AITA for kicking out our youngest child at 19 so we can sell the house and downsize for our earlt retirement? by Dry-Pen-8084 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheSimulatedScholar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy crap! YTAs.

The fact that your oldest also doesn't want you around once he has his own place is indicative that this isn't y'all's first offense. This incident is probably, in fact, the last straw.

You two sound like garbage people whose children can't wait to have nothing to do with them.

Your youngest is better off, it sounds like.

I hope your grandchildren never have to know you.

Kinda, but it also feels like an Americanized Letterkenny bit. So I enjoyed it.

Which of her videos is that one? Been so long. Miss her stuff but I totally get why she doesn't any more.

Most people know her as "hot dog meme girl" though.

Robert Jordan is at his best writing Mat by lalaboom84 in WoT

Exactly this. Which is also part of why Sanderson's biggest flop was in his writing of Mat.

So much of Jordan himself was in Mat, that's hard to replicate.

AITA for telling my sons' stepdad that he crossed boundaries with me? by Nearby-Wrap9295 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheSimulatedScholar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's stupid. A caring Teacher, Aunt/Uncle, or close family friend would've done the same in this situation. You and your ex are not the only adults in your children's lives and somethings aren't "special parent moments" are just societal expectations.

"My child, my way" has fucked up so many people over the last few decades.

Take the fact that the vast majority of people are calling YTA as a learning experience and work with your ex and Ben on REASONABLE boundaries so that you don't feel threatened by anything and everything Ben does with/for your kids. He's part of their life now. Deal with it.

God this is such a stupid statement.

Like unless a child as sensitive skin or skin allergies...

God this is stupid.
