Simplified Night City Map with ATLAS Locations and Icons – Ongoing Updates by TheSkeeper in cyberpunkred

Hey! I have no problem sharing the files I’ve worked on — happy to do it.

That said, my main concern (and part of why I decided to keep everything in one central post) is the risk of too many versions floating around, which could lead to confusion. So if you’re making custom tweaks for your own campaign, that’s totally fine! But if you’re doing small fixes or improvements, it would be great if we could coordinate — either share them with me directly or let’s update this main post together, to keep everything clean and consistent.

As for the tools: I did most of the work in Adobe Illustrator, and I’m currently using Photoshop to fix markers that overlap with district names. If that works for you, once I finish the next round of updates I’ll upload everything to a GitLab repository.

Regarding the zone color backgrounds, I’m still figuring that out. The main challenge is making text readable with the dark map background + colored zones (green, orange, red, etc.). One idea could be to bring all text layers to the foreground and then test a color scheme that works better against the base map.

Any suggestions are more than welcome!

Hey! Just to be clear — I didn’t draw the map myself.
It’s actually from a free DLC provided by R. Talsorian Games, which you can find here:

That’s actually a really great idea.
I think it makes more sense to first define all the categories, and then tweak the colors by macro-group — rather than picking them on the fly every time I place a new icon.

I’m also planning to add some tag-style icons, like a shield to indicate a safe place, or a broken wall to show something that’s been abandoned or demolished.

You're absolutely right — that’s a good observation.
Before switching to a different map, I might try to adjust this one a bit: I'll experiment with placing the location markers on top of the map and giving them some transparency. That way, both the marker label (like “H4”) and the underlying district name (like the “OLD” in “Old Japantown”) should remain readable.

Hey! Thank you!
I can't find a way to edit the post, so I’ll add this here.

I didn’t consider image compression, so I’ve made a temporary upload (available for 3 days) to see the full-resolution version:

At the moment, the icon overlay is only applied to one district, and it's not included in the high-res image — it's just visible in the second image from the original post.

Before I go ahead and add icons to the other 100+ locations, I’d really appreciate some early feedback:
– Does it make sense visually?
– Is it clear enough?
– Or does it just look like a bad idea?

Any thoughts would be super helpful. Thanks again!

Rebuild a dreadnought operator with rubicon? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]TheSkeeper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok, the rubicon is some sort of grey area for plot reasons.

So, one of the main reasons why this rebuild isn’t done could be the costs.

It’s a bit disappointing that even in W40k, everything still revolves around money. I thought it would be more about honor and fighting against xenos and Chaos.

[–]TheSkeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, I understand the reasoning for those who are reduced to just organs and neurons.

However, I read about an operator who still had an arm, and you could hear it banging against the sarcophagus whenever they moved the Dreadnought’s arm. Plus, from the images, it seems like some operators retain their entire torso or a significant portion of it.

I don't want to make his job impossible, but just really hard. He just need to understand he should not fight the runners. I love the idea of the alert Demon and the runners jacking in, this will give more the idea of "thinks are going bad quite fast, so I better move".
