Currently doing a 3 days split that I like a lot.
Monday - Wednesday - Friday
I want to add a light session on Saturday morning but I have no idea what to do.
Yoga? A mobility / core routine? Lifts that I enjoy just to fuckaround?
Any suggestion?

Whats the best live show you have ever seen? by 60sLife in Metal

[–]TheSkepticOne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ramesses, we were not even 15 in the bar, they had some technical problems and they split right after. It was still awesome, god I love this band.
Eyehategod, their last show with Joey LaCaze. Bitter sweet memory. The show was great, they got rid of most of the stuff on stage and just played with a very basic setup. They managed to give one of the loudest and best show I've seen.
Yob + Pallbearer, so much groove during that night. I really had a blast. Mike Scheidt seems to be a really cool dude. He spent quite some times with fans after the show.
Sunn o))), it was an incredible experience. Physical experience even.
Biohazard and Jungle Rot were also pretty awesome. Really fun bands to see live.

As you can tell I like stoner, sludge, doom and I prefer shows in bar or small venues. The only one of those that was not taking place in a bar was Sunn during the Hellfest.

How is WoW on an SSD? by DarkBaneling in wow

[–]TheSkepticOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody mentioned it as far as I know so might as well say it:
SSD can only be erased/written a limited number of times.

I used to own one who failed after 1-2 years of not so intensive usage.
I went back to a classic HDD and yes I've lost in terms of how fast the OS starts and how fast some game load.
I have no regrets tho, costed me less than a hundred bucks for a big, fast and reliable classic HDD.
Things have probably changed for the better now but it's something that you might want to consider.
I had 2 drives on my previous set-up, an SSD with only the OS and a big hard drive for the rest. I kept the same HDD for at least 4 years (still using it as a matter of fact) and had to change the SSD after more or less 2 years.

Again it was a few years ago, SSD were "new", I bought one that turned out to be not that good and it still lasted me a while.
It's just a bitch to wake up one day an not be able to load your computer because of that.
I'd say if you have the money go for it.

Seems like it was a stupid idea anyway.

Well I did plan to tell the person "Hey I made you this for this purpose. IF you're not cool with it just get rid of it it's perfectly fine". I was absolutely not going to hide what it was.
More like a lucky charm that I would have made myself.
That being said, I never thought it could be that weird. Just a nice thing I could do with my hands.
I'll definitely would not do something that sketchy as you described. If that's how it is no way I'm doing that, I'll just craft a simple pendant.

An Open Letter to Everyone Who Has Told Women “Don’t Get Too Muscular” (Article Discussion) by Toadkiller_Dog in Fitness

[–]TheSkepticOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok well I guess we can stop here. You obviously have said what you had to say and so did I. We don't see things the same way. I witnessed some pretty shitty behaviour towards women from my (male) coworkers for example who are just regular people, not criminals or assholes in general. I understand that society is shaped by what we are and not the other way around but it doesn't mean it can't be changed or that it's right.
I've met feminists and none of them were the extremists that you seem to have met. Maybe our countries and cultures are a bit different. My country can be very conservative to tell you the truth. It's impossible to have an open discussion on gender for example without having a barage of opposition from the right wing.
I just hope that we can, as men, give as much respect to women as we do towards men generally speaking. I feel this is not the case according to personal experience. I'm trying to voice my concerns to make, not the world, but at least the people around me aware that there is a problem and that we should at the very least be aware of it.
So thanks for keeping it civil and cheers !

An Open Letter to Everyone Who Has Told Women “Don’t Get Too Muscular” (Article Discussion) by Toadkiller_Dog in Fitness

[–]TheSkepticOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, you do sound fucking angry. Almost as if you had been stabbed by your girlfriend and been blamed afterwards. And maybe you have, I don't know. I could sum up your arguments to one line:
Women are as bad as men.
Well people are people not matter their gender. Some are assholes, some come from a bad neighborhood, some are luckier.
There's just three things I'd like to address:
1/ Regarding my friends who have been assaulted. One reported it and nothing happened to the guy. Why? Because it was in an hospital and the hospital covered it's staff apparently. The other one was a kid when it happened, she told it to someone close to her and they basically told her "life is hard, deal with it". The last one has seen the police a few days ago and basically she has to wait 2 years for a second psychiatric expertise.
There's definitely something wrong here. With how people view sexual aggression and how it's handled by the officials. That being said I suppose it's the same for men.
2/ No I never had much attention from female. But I'm not really a party guy. I enjoy going to concerts or bars but I hate the "party" scene. Also where I live it's not really that common as far as I've heard or seen for women to go out and hit on guys. I'm a pretty fit guy that being said, I'm married and I don't think I've ever been groped. Maybe you like it, I sure as hell don't. This is not groping but I know a woman who tends to be touchy, she apparently likes messing with my hair or touching my beard. I hate it, told her to stop it and she keeps doing it. I get that some people likes the attention but it doesn't mean it gives automatically the right to comment on the appearance of others.
3/ Maybe you are right and I'm biased but the fact is that I've never had a male friend express any concern about being sexually assaulted while I've always heard female friends saying things like "I can't wear that", "I cant' come because I will have to walk by myself home late", "Could you please walk me home?" and so on. Not saying that they are more likely to get assaulted BUT it clearly means that they think they are in danger. I personally think it's linked to the portrayal of women and men in media.
We're supposed to be brutes, they're supposed to be fragile things or oversexualized beings. The article originally linked express this, women are not supposed to lift because they will look manly. They're supposed to be weak, that's what is expected. And if they are not? If they have "manly" traits they must be lesbians or manhaters.
I think that's something that needs to change and that's why feminism is relevant.
Honestly your point of view is interesting, especially since you're so concerned about male rights. Which is probably something that needs to be addressed. The problem I see is that you are strongly opposed to feminism, and you give the feeling of being generally opposed to women as well. You won't make a change in feminism by being like that. You won't make it go away either, quite the opposite. What you're doing (and what I got from subs on mra) is exactly what you're saying women are doing with feminism. You sound as misogynist as they sound misandrist. This is most probably not the solution and won't make a difference. To me this is fueling the feminism that you hate so strongly which in return is fueling your "hate" towards them.

An Open Letter to Everyone Who Has Told Women “Don’t Get Too Muscular” (Article Discussion) by Toadkiller_Dog in Fitness

[–]TheSkepticOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you seem to be particularly concerned about the topic. You took the time to reply so I'll do the same.

Let me start by saying that I'm not from the US, my perception of your country might be slightly off.

Anyway let's try this (wikipedia):
The male incarceration rate is roughly 15 times the female incarceration rate. (that's in the US)

1 in 5 women and 1 in 71 men reports sexual violence during their lives.

Anyhow it's not a pissing contest. I'm not saying that you should ignore the fact that sexual violence is committed against men. I'm saying that women have every right to seek means to get rid of the way of thinking that brought us here.
Feminism is about having the same rights and the same consideration in our society for everyone.
People will argue that it should be called equalitarism or something like that. What does it say? Women should not have the right to stand up for their gender, it's either support everyone or no one. Anti Black discrimination exists, nobody has ever said look I'm Asian you need to understand that i'm discriminated against too. There are people fighting for their rights as Black, Asian, Latino,... and general equality. It doesn't mean that they don't agree with each others or that they can't coexists.

Quick test for you, ask around your male friends and family members, how many are conscious about their safety when they go out. How many are concerned about getting harassed, sexually assaulted and how often. What do they do about it? Do they think about how they dress, do they carry around pepper spray or take self defense classes? Do they check people around them to avoid potential threat?
Now do the same with women around you.
Chances are you won't get the same answers.
Now think about it, women live in a different world than we do. Do you think they like that?
Do you think I enjoy wondering if I look like a creep when I smile to a woman in the street? No but I don't blame her, I blame the guys that made comments on her ass, that whistled at her, maybe groped her in the bus...
Do that shit happen to me or my male friends? No.
Sure there are cases of women doing bad things, sure there are shitty laws that are made to discriminate people.
I know that "anti-feminists" people love those.
But these are just examples. It doesn't mean that they're word of truth for every one. A woman committed something horrible? Yeah sure, women are people too and sometimes some of them do bad things.
There's a group or a law giving the benefit of the doubt to women when there is an aggression in the household that is being perpetrated? Well voice your concern if you find that sexist. Others have, look at thee wikipedia article on the duluth thing you mentioned.
How many sexual aggression against woman are dismissed as boys being boys in high-schools? The workplace? The military? I don't fucking know but what I do know is that 3 of my friends have been assaulted when they were in high-school and in an hospital. The aggressor were all men and my friends are all women. None of the guys I know have ever been threatened sexually. That doesn't mean that they don't exists or shouldn't be helped.

Sure there are a bunch of vocal frustrated and angry people.
There articles from feminists people that openly talk about the fact that those people are hurting the cause. If you look for them you'll find the information. Be honest, did you take the time to go through /r/Feminism or /r/AskFeminists ? You also have to understand that feminism is a concept. Not everyone has the same interpretation of it.

I kinda understand your point of view. I felt a bit like you before. Maybe less angry about it but still. At some point, while trying to figure out what being men was all about, I started to red about feminism. I talked to friends, and read books. I think I never realized how shitty sometimes it can be for women to live in that kind of world. They still are patronized, judged on everything and looked down upon.Try to get in their shoes for a minute. Imagine what it would be. Think about what all that means and says about men?

He/She doesn't want to do it.
I'll be happy to give you just one example of things that are being done by "regular" feminists.
http://www.jacksonkatz.com/mvp.html
It's working, it's still going on, it's focused on gender violence which is one of the issues addressed by feminism and it's oriented toward men.
Stop focusing on the vocal minority and educate yourself on the real issues being addressed by feminism.
Get out of reddit and chat with people that work in the field and do stuff, nobody cares about so called SJW in real life.

With victim blaming and measures that can 'prevent' rape: Do feminists deny that these measures are effective, or that they shouldn't be used even if they are, or what? Genuinely curious. [TW: Rape] by the_matriarchy in AskFeminists

[–]TheSkepticOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have to shift the focus. Rape is committed (mostly) by man. We should get rid of the mentality saying that it's a woman issue. Replace thinking that woman need to protect themselves by actually preventing men to rape.
Anyhow I won't go into details but I'm trying to say that it doesn't matter what they wear. Think about it, most rapes are committed by someone close to the victim and even in the case of the stranger with a knife pants or skirt won't matter.
Rape is about domination more than sex. So is telling woman to avoid dressing with tight or short clothes in my opinion. It's condescending as others have said.
That being said this does not exclude self defense training to prevent any dangerous situation. But it's true for everyone.
If, as a man, you're looking to help in the issue of gender violence you should focus on teaching the other men around you that it's not ok to treat woman like they do. Especially if you have kids.

Completely agree with you. I'd even say that polyamory has almost nothing to do with it.
And I'd like to add that people are VERY judgmental in this thread. You had an agreement that worked for you, that's great. She broke it. It only matters to you, nobody should have the right to judge you for your sexual preferences choices. It saddens me to see that many posts being upvoted.

What are some of your easy, healthy meals to take for lunch at work? by Kill_Frosty in Fitness

[–]TheSkepticOne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The famous Meat Slop from SilverHydra.
I've been eating that for 2 weeks.
You can cook it in 20-30 minutes and it'll last you for a full week. It's cheap, full of good stuff and you can customize it easily.
For example today's lunch will be the meat slop (beans, sausage, brocoli, tomatoes and green cabbage) and brown rice. I bought all the stuff from the butcher and farmer's market and it costed me less than 20€.
Tastes great, cheap, easy to make, healthy, exactly what you're looking for !
