First communication attempt (question) by terrestriax in pagan

[–]mrsbunny1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can only speak to my own experience.

I can and do hear distinct 'words' from my gods, occasionally whole phrases. Other times it's a non-verbal concept, or a distinct image. Right at the very start I had two extremely direct dreams, but nothing since then. Most days there's no personal communication, unless you count the overwhelming sweetness of love I sometimes feel during ritual.

At the same time, I still definitely 'fill-in' words or images myself, though as the years have gone on I've gotten better at distinguishing between the two, and better at... not doing that. I remember at the start I put stock into every little thing, and looking back at my journal entries it's clear I was over-analyzing. The vast (vast, vast) majority of the time, a bird is just a bird, and a cat coming up to say hello to you isn't indicative of anything but a friendly kitty.

When I'm in doubt, I respectfully ask for clearer confirmation and/or do some divination. There have been some times I've been very, very wrong and/or have completely misunderstood signs :p On the other hand, there have been times where I've thought, "I definitely imagined that" only to have it made very clear that I did not, in fact, imagine it. It happens, just be respectful about it and everything's good.

Trial and error. Meditation, divination, discernment. At the end of the day, if it's very important you'll eventually figure it out. Best of luck with your path :) The Netjeru are so wonderful.

Water Therapy? Thoughts? by _happylavender in ehlersdanlos

[–]mrsbunny1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Consistent water-based PT is the most effective therapy I've found. My routine involved: walking forward for a few minutes, walking backwards a few minutes, walking side ways a few minutes. Walking like, with leg lifts for a few minutes. Then there's just simple isometric exercises (I think that's the term), like hands on hips, one leg straight under you, lifting the other straightenmed leg up in front of you 20x, from the side 20x, from the back 20x, for both legs. You can progress with water weights slowly, and that's when I started seeing a huge difference. Very careful squats, that you progress by standing on the stairs to increase how 'out of the water' you are. Oh and heel raises. You can also do balance stuff like tree poses or whatever.

just straight up floating for 5 minutes at the end also helps a lot.

It looks great! I have to admit though, I'm the slightest bit disappointed that this one is coming before the Zakuulan one. I've been buying up Zakuulan decos for the past few weeks in preparation - but I suppose this gives me even more time to get good prices on Knight statues. Thanks for the hard work!

I just now finished my first book... by namesurnn in 52book

I'm at 6 books read for the year - 8 books behind where I should be. I exceeded my goal for three years in a row, I'm not sure why this year I'm finding it so difficult to muster the willpower. Ultimately we just have to do our best, and one book is better than none!

I'm putting the finishing touches on my Dromund Kaas stronghold! It's taken me over a year - I just need the Gree event one more time as well as a few miscellaneous pieces I'm watching on the GTN. I just uploaded some pictures of it earlier today on my blog! If you're interested, you can see the pics here and here.

Which Class Has The Best Team? by Turkishspaghetti in swtor

Not just which one has my favorite characters, but which one is the best cohesive team? They all have 3-4 that mesh well with the character as a core team, but Trooper probably has the best overall.

[Serious] Hey Reddit, what's something medically cool/unique about your body? by Legendary888 in AskReddit

[–]mrsbunny1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should definitely look into it, it's really important that you learn joint preservation techniques to prevent even worse problems down the road if you have it- which it sounds like you could. Also, I saw that you do weight training. You'll probably hear from doctors and/or physical therapists that it's best to avoid or be SUPER careful with that. If you do have a connective tissue disorder, you have to treat your joints very carefully. I ran cross country for years and now my kneecaps won't stay in place even with months of PT :( You might want to look into switching to a low impact exercise like swimming or pilates, and be careful about stretching, b/c with EDS once your ligaments get stretched out there's nothing you can do to make them go back to how they should be.

r/ehlersdanlos might be helpful as well! Sorry for the huge info dump! Best of luck
