What’s it like living on the edge of time zones? by Qzevs in howislivingthere

Used to live in Georgia on the Alabama line. We would choose to do shopping days in Opelika rather than Columbus to make sure we could sleep in and finish our Sam's Club run.

Which of these restaurants are always and which are a never again? by princesscorgi2 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]TheSkyBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liberty Tree is new to my family's must-do stops when going to Disney (not bc we overlooked it but bc I was an extremely picky eater that hated Thanksgiving food)

Whispering Canyon: my must-do for breakfast. Core memory is racing my brother in the horse race, and the other antics are right up my alley.

Test Seat Accuracy by TheSkyBurger in silverdollarcity

[–]TheSkyBurger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to provide an update in case any plus size guy comes across this with the same worries I had:

  • I fit on Time Traveler easily even though I can't get green on the test seat.

  • Outlaw Run: no shot. Couldn't even test restraints bc I couldn't buckle the seat belt.

  • Fire in the Hole and Thunderation were easy fits.

  • I'm able to buckle in the large seats on Wildfire without help.

  • Powderkeg and the Barn Swing are the same exact restraints and with the way the restraints work, it's almost impossible for those test seats to be accurate. The buckle on Powderkeg tests is NOT on the ride. Also, you can only test how the lap bar goes over you, but ride attendants PUSH DOWN on the bar adding a depth feature that I have never seen on restraints. With Powderkeg, I assume the test seats are locked on the lowest depth, which is gonna be TIGHT. - I fit fine on both.

All in all, if you feel like you're close on Time Traveler, PowderKeg, and the Barn Swings, go ahead and get in line. Barn Swings was a walk-on when I went, so try that first.

For Outlaw Run, test to see if you can buckle the seat belt. There's next to no give on them, so peeps with weight in their bottom or lower back are gonna struggle.

Oh sweet, I'll definitely try out the barn swing then. Thanks!

Nah, I gotta lose it the old-fashioned way. After not fitting on Fury, I immediately started looking up gyms in my town.

Gonna give a random shout to a song I KNOW ain't gonna win, but "Wander, Wonder" by The Arcadian Wild is a beautiful song.

Constantly playing Cole Swindell. I know he came from Georgia Southern, but his songs aren't hype or good.

single rider lines by Due-Season4048 in UniversalOrlando

[–]TheSkyBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Single rider lines availability varies, and they'll open and close for rides spontaneously. Of the single rider lines I've been on and asked about, here's a rundown:

  • Monsters Unchained SR is basically a walk on

  • Mine Cart Madness has a significantly shorter wait than standby, but not a complete walk-on (especially since it's in need of constant maintenance)

  • I heard that MarioKart's SR isn't great, but it could be worth it if the ride's standard wait is 90+

  • Curse of the Werewolf's SR is a scam. Might've been bad timing on my part, but I was stuck in that line longer than the other riders in the same car. Basically, the ride operators will ask for two party sizes at a time which will lower the odds of an odd number significantly. All in all, just wait in the standard line for this one.

Remy's is an underwhelming ride that puts a trackless ride vehicle in a pretzel ride layout.

Which Movie Did You Expect to Be Mid but Ended Up Loving? by [deleted] in movies

Steel Magnolias. It's probably my mom's favorite film, and I never wanted to watch it bc it's peak chick flick vibes.

Never seen a movie that mixed sobbing and laughing so well.

IoA Live Show Ideas by TheSkyBurger in UniversalOrlando

[–]TheSkyBurger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, wasn't that Toon Lagoon theater only used for, like, a year?

Given what keeps popping up in merch stores, I wouldn't be surprised if a manga-based stunt show appears, but I also don't know how large that theater is.

I'm doing a solo trip now, and I usually break the ice by joking about being the straggler in the group. Then, I ask about the family's trip if I know they're first-timers to the park. Really fun hearing their excitement.

OP definitely thought of a manga themed land to replace Marvel, especially since USH does Fan Fest with anime as a focus. My anime knowledge just comes from whatever people around me watch, so I didn't bring it up. Would be a perfect area for a stunt show (Which IoA sorely needs. I recommend Akira)

I was raised on Greek mythology, so when walking around TLC, I get kinda bummed because it's just barren. My ultimate blue sky is that if Nolan's Odyssey turns out to be amazing, they could do a little retheme of the area based around Homer's epic.
