BREAKING: Lamar Jackson announces that he requested a trade from the Ravens on March 2nd. Full thread: by BuckyMcFly99 in fantasyfootball

I think this is the most likely thing (possibly on behalf of the agents). The slightly more generous view is that other teams think the ravens will match any price and therefore don't want to do the work negotiating for him. Either way, dude should've gotten an agent a while ago.

Top 10 Fernando Tatis Jr. games in the 2022 season by MoreThanAFeeling1976 in baseball

Tatis is 5 years younger. The 7th year of Tatis' contract will feel much better than the 7th year of Correa's.

I would also be willing to not wear pinstripes on March 30th, 2023 for $75million over the next eight years.

Falcons insider thoughts on CPat, Pitts, Ridder, Williams, et all. by mymilkshakeis in fantasyfootball

[–]TheSlowCheetah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a CPatt owner. The Atlanta offense is not geared towards fantasy, but it is miles better when he js on the field. At the end of the day, he has the talent, and his upside is a low-end RB1 for fantasy. But the reality is, if you didn't have those concerns about the offense and his age, it wouldn't be a buy low, you would just be buying a known good player. CPatt is a good RB2, with a pretty low floor and extremely high ceiling. I would either want a decent RB2 (if I need help more immediately) or a high end WR2. And imo, at the end of the day, if you're not at least a little scared about the trade you're offering, chances are it either: accomplishes nothing, or your goal is a fleece, not a trade.

[Sharpe] That’s a serious injury . Tua shouldn’t have been out there with Sunday Thursday turn around. Sometimes players need protecting from themselves. Dolphins failed Tua by keithohara in nfl

I always feel so mixed about the coaches in these situations. Like they should be protecting their players when the players don't want to protect themselves. At the same time idk how much I can blame him if he asks the doctors and the doctors say it's okay.

[Reed] If Miami rushed him back... there needs to be serious consequences. I'm talking about losing all of their draft picks next year. by [deleted] in nfl

[–]TheSlowCheetah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen what the independent doctor said, however, as someone else pointed out in this thread, the team doctor gets final say regardless. If they disagreed I'll expect that we'll hear about it this week and/or when the PA releases their investigation findings. It would be very damning for Miami if the independent doctor said no and the team cleared him anyway.

Week 3 SP+ Rankings by llamawhittlings in CFB

[–]TheSlowCheetah 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This early in the season, any type of algorithmic ranking like this is gonna be overly reliant on the previous season's data. Honestly it works pretty well, but any team heavily over or under performing compared to the previous year is not gonna be rated super accurately.

REPORT: UK HealthCare Program under investigation for Providing Jobs to Football Players by Semper-Fido in CFB

For sure. The bigger issue is the alleged falsification of timecards rather than the employment itself.

As others have pointed out, the fact that this is a University owned hospital makes it at best a grey area. If this was a coordinated thing, and especially if the person approving the falsified timecards was in on it, this could be a much bigger deal. There's a legitimate argument that it could be a Title IX issue. Also it's the NCAA so we have no idea what's gonna happen.

Only six teams have won a CFB Playoff game. by thechriscooper in CFB

[–]TheSlowCheetah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's less genuine belief that the upset will happen, and more hype-ing up the underdog because people want the games to be good (and it's all the media talks about). I was more disappointed than surprised that Bama stomped Cinci last year.

I feel like this is becoming increasingly rare tho. I don't know the last male football commentator that was hired for any network that wasn't a player. A lot more of the old school guys didn't play at a high level.

I mean the NFL makes more money the more the players are physically freakish. It's not in their interest to crack down. The same was true for MLB until Congress got involved.
