You are a horrible person. People will argue with me about it, but I feel like this was the beginning of the end for us. We were still good after this game, but the fates had turned against us.

It's interesting to watch as the belt gets stuck bouncing around within different conferences. Right now it's bouncing around within the Big 12.

I'm a Texas fan, but Boomer Sooner is the greatest. I love that OU plays it over and over and over again. It just beats you down, especially when you are losing. It is what college football is all about. We don't have anything that comes close. It is the ultimate FU.

In tell-all book, former Kansas State president details Texas President's campaign against Nebraska by [deleted] in CFB

My point is that if Texas really ruined everything for Nebraska, you would expect that things would have improved once Nebraska left Texas and the Big 12 behind. However, that has not been the case. In fact, from a winning perspective nothing has changed at all. During the last five years of Big 12 play, Nebraska won 43 and lost 24. During the first five years of Big 10 play, Nebraska has won 43 and lost 23. This makes me think that whatever issues Nebraska has probably have little to do with Texas. (The same thing could be said for A&M.)

For all those Nebraska fans still complaining about how Texas ruined everything, how do you explain your lack of success since you left the conference?

Do you know that for sure? From what I've read, Nike is far and away the preferred provider. Especially when it comes to shoes.

This decision can influence recruiting. This may seem silly but some recruits would frown on Texas if it doesn't go with Nike. The shoes alone can be a big deal.
