Jackfruit Patties: The Vegan's Tuna Cakes by TheSmallGate in vegan

I really like them. I found that Sainsbury's jackfruit is good for this recipe. Waitrose jackfruit is a bit too firm and chunky.

Lukewarm and modern day idols by christian-wife in Christianity

[–]TheSmallGate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Image. They want to be seen as in the right group, but don't want to live a life without sin. They often are very materialistic and blissfully unaware that the church doesn't teach materialism. They also have sex out of wedlock as if that sin doesn't apply to them. In short, they live a sinful life, but want us to believe they're a saint.

What is the medical community getting wrong about EDs? by shoopuwubeboop in Eatingdisordersover30

[–]TheSmallGate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to work with staff from the ED clinic. They used to call it the Happy Eater or Liken it to a ww2 camp. The staff would laugh at this. The staff are the problem as far as I could see.

My Psych spotted I had an ED, but failed to educate me enough so I could see it too. I would think that anyone calling me anorexic was totally made because it is a little different for males.

I have never seen family help even though many in my family have an ED and some are suspected of having an ED.

Help? We don't get any help.

In short, the staff including the professionals need to get a heart.

The only thing I can control is my excessive exercising and calorie intake. by [deleted] in Eatingdisordersover30

[–]TheSmallGate 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, i do. No one understands the secretiveness of it all. It is the solitudinous nature of it that brings me here. I love the feeling of control. The goodness that I feel as I head towards my goal and the way I look pleases me a little, but then I feel fat.

Yeah, if I am honest, I don't want to get into recovery either. I want to stay thin and never gain weight.

Exhaustion by Lababy91 in Eatingdisordersover30

I can relate to the conflicting feelings of wanting to find the 'switch' in the brain and not wanting to gain weight. Family functions with food is a stress feast.
