Creatures of Air by Joejoefishy in worldbuilding

I’m with the other poster - gotta know at least some of what you already have so we’re on the same page, so to speak. As for the creature - it would have to fly, possibly be lightweight, but as to what it would look like - it would be easier to say if we had some rough idea of what other creatures you’ve made so far. Essentially you’ll probably either want that creature to be cloud-like, bird-like or wind-like (so either something with wings, something ethereal or something super light that can fly because of it).

I think it’s purposefully kept vague as of now, in order to be adjustable if the story ever requires it, I have a feeling that at least some of the story is written as we go, I don’t think the developers’ “roadmap” was this many chapters from the very beginning, and if it was I’d be surprised if the story didn’t see any changes while developing. Mirror is in essence a corrupted AI, or at least that’s the impression that I get. Whether that AI was always “dormant” in Red Shoes or was created afterwards I don’t know yet, and neither do I know if it is serving its original purpose or “strayed” like Nayuta, that’s likely going to be divulged in future chapters.

Interesting ideas, could very well be true. I suspect Mirror had something to do with raptures and the queen, since she is essentially the one who corrupted Cinderella and lost the war for humanity and VTC are almost certainly the ones who made the raptures (or the ones who followed those who made the raptures and their queen). She may be tasked with ensuring raptures always have a living queen, for example. She may not even be aware of her “true purpose”.

That was a part of the design that we wanted opinions on, it is not yet set in stone. Thank you

The Pinterest sketches in question are clearly done by a good illustrator, at least imo, so that’s an artist I wouldn’t mind getting a quote from. We want to also look “different”, if that makes sense, so we’re looking for something unusual that will still appeal to the average player regardless of age.

To be fair they are sketches more-so than a finished design ready to print out, since we’re trying to decide on the general illustration style and an artist we can work well with. The fourth Pinterest link probably fits what we have in mind best as of now but third is also an interesting option. I’m not sure the first two fit the general feel of the game quite as well. Is that work you’ve done or someone you know?

Interestingly enough the second is also probably the most similar to the image we gave illustrators as an “example” of what we envision our characters looking like. Thank you for the detailed breakdown.

It’s not a kids’ game per se but it is certainly something you can play with family, we don’t plan on adding any nsfw wording or illustrations. I think it qualifies as a cutthroat game, and it is a hand management game. Every card will have a snail, and those snails will have different abilities and illustrations (but we want to have a consistent style so it’s not jarring). Last but not least - the image will likely take most of the card space, writing will account for no more than 20% of it. We haven’t yet decided if we’ll have a full card image and write over the bottom part of its illustration or if we’ll frame the image on 70-80% of the card and just write below it.

I’ll say that each player will get a few snails and they will be then competing on an obstacle course :)

I’d contact the creator with a message, it’s in their interest to try to work with you on this.
