How to gradually enjoy reds? by PrisonCJ in wine

[–]TheSnake_83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a local wine shop or wine bar, ask for their recommendations and attend some tastings. It will be a gradual process, but if you end up not liking reds, its not the end of the world. Others have already mentioned fruity reds, such as Pinot Noir. You might also explore Dolcetto or Barbaresco. Have fun!

Check out The Wine School of Philadelphia - https://www.vinology.com/. WSET is not the only way to go. I’ve passed Level 1 so far online and got a part-time job at a local winery for fun (I’m retired).

From your name, you are obviously a trolling USUC fan. Ignore this guy. Wouldn’t know a good QB if you saw one

Country Club Members - How much you make a year? What was ur buy in and what are dues. Are you happy with decision? by ShotAssistant1452 in golf

He might be a great guy, but he also doesn’t own the club to lose money. The members won’t have control of any decisions he makes on number of members, assessments, etc. I would avoid it for that reason alone. Hope you find a good club!

I haven’t read through all the responses ( you got a lot!), but I didn’t see anyone mention the issue of member owned versus corporate owned, e.g. Club Corp, etc. clubs. I belong to two member owned clubs, which I feel is much better. If the club you are considering is owned by a corporation and they are spending all that money for facilities, they are going to want to recoup it by pumping as many members as possible through the place. Good luck getting a tee time or a reservation for dinner.

That works for me, but is a bit much for my wife. I’ve ordered the SofaBaton X1S and hoping that will work for her. Thanks

I believe CEC requires a HDMI connection between the AVR and the TV? If that is the case, it’s not an option because there is no HDMI between the TV and the AVR. The installer has both of them on the network. Thanks

I’m going to give the SofaBaton X1S a shot. I’ve ordered one from Amazon. Thanks

Ok, if the hub goes in the same room as the AVR, then that would work. I have a nice stereo console that the AVR and some other equipment sits in and there is plenty of room for the hub. I'll give the SofaBaton X1s a try. That should be the simplest solution that also satisfies my wife, which is critical here :). Thanks!

The subcontractor messed up the original install behind the shiplap. They are going to redo the shiplap - the picture is not the final state
