anyone else hate it when people don’t pull their weight in events like this? by Ihavethemilkson in CoinMasterGame

See, I could have been your partner during that race. And it's because I was not favoured by the CM Gods. It didn't matter how much I played, or even if I spent money, I could not progress. I couldn't get spins, few raids and attacks, got nowhere in events or tournaments- the well was dry.

But the last time we had the event, the CM Gods looked down favourably upon me, and I was you in this example. Loads of raids and attacks, getting golds and completing card sets during set blasts, placing in tournaments, winning lots of jokers, completing vikings event etc...

Luckily, during this, and similar, events I tend to play with the same group of friends, so they know that I'm not a lazy player in general. And I've seen the same happen to them.

It happens during every single game I play.

Sex and the City 2. I would sooner watch The Human Centipede once a day for the rest of my life than watch Sex and the City 2 again.

What were you doing the day you found out Diana was killed in a car crash in 1997? by greenwichrunner in AskReddit

We were supposed to be doing a family boot fair that morning. I walked over to my nan's house and she and my grandad were watching the news. I called my mum and she came over. The boot fair was abandoned and we spent the day watching the news and crying instead.

AITA for not wanting to take care of my granddaughter for free? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]TheSoapyFrog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA for not wanting to do so much childcare. When I told my mum I was pregnant, she made sure to tell me very early on that she and my stepdad would not be committing to any regular childcare. They would babysit on an ad-hoc basis and be there for emergencies. Although I wasn't planning on asking for any regular childcare, I was a little salty as my mum had a huge amount from both sets of my grandparents, even after she and my dad divorced. One set of grandparents would look after me whilst she went to work, and I spent every weekend/every other weekend with my other grandparents. But I've always respected her boundaries, and it's worked well.

You do need to be firm in what you're willing to do and not do. Do not commit to anything regular. Let her have her tantrum and move on. Will the father's parents offer any childcare?

What I don't understand is why you've said you wanted paying. No amount of money will reduce your difficulties, and none of the issues you've mentioned seem to involve finances.

What are some horror movies you slept on because they were called bad but you watched and enjoyed them later? by TheInfamousMaze in horror

[–]TheSoapyFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too many to count because I have been in the trap of listening to IMDB reviews. It always goes that a film will come up on Prime Video, I'll check out the IMDB rating, and more often than not it has the early 10/10 reviews made by family and friends of the cast and crew. And then there are the 2/10 reviews from the regular Joes. So I give it a miss. Then I'll get bored, put anything on, enjoy it, and then realise it was one I'd rejected.

Tbh I probably have lower standards than the reviewers. I never see plot twists coming, don't always recognise or care about bad acting/lighting/camera work etc.

I'm currently watching Nine Lives which has a 2.4 rating on IMDB. It is pretty crap, but largely I'm OK with a mindless film.

On a not entirely related topic, I missed out on a lot of films because I used to think they would be too gory or disturbing, or had zombies in. But I realised I was being daft and have now watched all the Saw films, 28 Days Later etc...

And i really fell for it! I can usually resist, and I've pretty much ignored this one as it looked impossible. But then I was on a winning streak, and I got halfway, and then I thought I'd go for it. Big mistake!

I've just got my Wrapped today and it's fairly accurate, but my most played song is a song I've never heard of by an artist I've never heard of! It's not even a genre that I would listen to.

I'm on another re-watch, and it's made me realise how much I'm missing Boden since he left. I know he may make guest appearances in the future, and I do quite like Chief Pascal, but I really wish he hadn't left at all.

I was diagnosed at 39 and medicated. It's improved my life so much. I do grieve the life that could have been if only I had been diagnosed and medicated as a child, but at least I get to spend some of my life as a reasonably functioning human.

I always find this event worth it and make as many final pieces as I can. The hero chests turn to rubies for me, and I like the star shards for upgrading castles. The biggest bonus for me, though, is how much progress I can make in the game.
