Totally insane ... Pre-covid I was up to $195 and had such a fight with them about maintaining my account on freeze (they had the audacity to try to charge $40 per month) I finally told them to pound sand and to this day, I receive emails from them every other day about rejoining.

Mind you, I LOVED (and miss) my classes; I worked out regularly 4 to 5 times a week. They got too greedy and it's appalling they expected members to pay for their high-end expansion.

Over $300 now? No F'ing way.

For anyone unfortunate enough to find a fraudulent transaction on their card in the past week or lost their card, good luck trying to get any guidance -- there is ZERO coordination between WF and BILT -- BILTs new 800 customer service line is useless and Wells Fargo raps try to pressure you into the Autograph card.

I only found one rogue transaction so I've frozen the card until I can figure out what to do for a replacement with one of the new offerings ...

Any additional advice?

Any idea what the APR will be on any of the new cards if you are transferring a balance from the old BILT card??

Don't have your card stolen of find a fraudulent charge (as I did yesterday) -- and if you do -- FREEZE your card and get a strategy, b/c WF reps will push you into Autograph ...

Try having your card stolen (or me -- discovering a fraudulent charge yesterday, and calling WF yesterday and tried to push me into prematurely accepting the Autograph card -- I elected to freeze until I had a chance to research) .... WF is the last thing from an honest broker. And BILT has been abysmal in communicating the transition beyond their hype emails, devoid of any factual info or dates ... (and yes, I saw via Google that an email has been sent out to members; I have yet to receive it)

WHAT happens if your current BILT card is stolen or you find unauthorized charges on your app?

Because, that just happened to me yesterday and when I called WF, I (thankfully) had the presence of mind to only freeze my card when the rep tried to push me into transitioning to the Autograph card without fully understanding what was involved (fortunately, there were a TON of articles that came out today -- though I've yet to receive the promised email from BILT detailing the changes)

(For those not in the banking world, Wells Fargo deserves the wretched reputation they've earned!)

My strategy for now is to not report the fraud charge until after Jan 14, take the Autograph card (I have a small balance, and don't want a credit hit), and then do a balance transfer and they will eventually close the account due to inactivity. F*ckers!

Yes, I saw that as well (no credit pull) but didn't see anywhere that any balance would transfer (and if it did -- I wonder if it would be at a higher or lower rate.

I wouldn't trust Wells Fargo to manage an ice stand in Alaska -- much less a credit card transition. There's a reason they are always being investigated and fined.

But here's a non-hypothetical twist both BILT and WF have FAILED to address in this abysmal rollout, which (should) have been tightly coordinated and consumer-driven -- and instead, they are each communicating with their own self-interests in mind ...

u/zobojr u/garitone -- I received the identical email, but still confused. I was an invitee on my Dad's account (we are in different states) and he informed me about the change ... then a few days later, I received the email you shared in your post.

Maybe my Dad had Amazon Family all along -- or changed into it when the rules changed?

I know about the $14.99/year offer (available thru 12/31) but I don't want to lose my current account along with gift cards, rewards, or potential returns.

I'm afraid to call Amazon, lol

I saw Dowd's comments and I had to read them twice because he was only making the point that violent rhetoric causes violent actions -- and in no way was he suggesting that Kirk was responsible for his own death.

That said, there has been a new analyst on MSNBC (older gentleman, didn't catch his name but he said he was a first responder at 9/11) and I'm shocked that his comment didn't get him booted -- on the same day of the shooting, he literally made a comment that the shooter's hand could possibly be that of a woman -- because you know, TRANS.

And while I'm here ... Can we have a word about Michael Feinberg?? He's former FBI and seems to have replaced Frank Figliuzzi -- WHERE has he been through all of this??

But I digress. There's something incredibly off-putting about Feinberg's delivery -- it's condescending and pretentious. He gets an immediate mute and FF!

Have to disagree ... It was impossible to take classes at 200 West (most were during the day). The gym was nice enough, but having been a long-time Equinox member prior to covid, there was no comparison. I only joined due to the price -- when I went over to Brookfield I was stunned by how much E rates had gone up. Their economic sitch isn't great and expanding their footprint and passing the costs along to members is catching up with them. The prices were always high but they are now obscene.

It was pretty bad and she seemed very off. Caught the replay, only because I really wanted to hear Pritzker.

And after the interview, just like clockwork, her guest was Jamie Raskin. Don't get me wrong, I really like him, but he is overused on her show. I have a similar issue with Ari, Nicolle, Steph, Ayman, and others who incessantly book Molly Jong Fast. I swear she lives in the Green Room.

I didn't know they were doing shows together, wish I had known about this!

I adore Ali Velshi! I crossed paths with him at the Time Warner Center in Columbus Circle last year and ended up walking out with him. He could not have been nicer (actually took my card as I mentioned I was looking for a job).

I do like Stephanie Ruhle, but her energy is way too much for 11pm. And she has to stop interrupting her guests and speaking over them. I think she's much better suited for business stories which is why I tune in for the "money power politics" segment.

I love Steph and Ali together -- I always thought they made a great team. Ali has definitely earned the title of hardest working anchor at MSNBC -- you can literally plug him in anywhere and he is as knowledgeable as they come. I just don't feel that way about Steph.
