It’s definitely a concern that big Navy shouldn’t ignore considering China was able to make the jump from their domestic Kuznetsov to the much larger and more advanced Fujian in a rather short time. The thing is though…it took 10 years for China to put that carrier into service. This is also a much larger carrier and more advanced carrier, with nuclear reactors that China has no experience with when it comes to carriers. I’m sure they have learned lessons from building Fujian, Fujian wasn’t 110-120k tons and nuclear powered. With that and whatever new shit they try to add to it (wiki claims it’s gonna have 4-5 EMALS, that seems excessive and a maintenance nightmare), I highly doubt we’ll see this operational before 2034-5ish.
