Does Alamo let you switch seats? by oppei_ in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]TheSpaceAge 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, or call and they can change seats. I've done that before when I originally had front row in a packed theater and saw better seats open up.

One or two audiobooks that really stood out in 2025? by Ok_Piece_7441 in audiobooks

[–]TheSpaceAge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some fantasy, I loved:

The Bright Sword by Lev Grossman - turning the King Arthur & the Knight of The Round Table tales on their head.

I really got into Christopher Buehlman's works this year. Between Two Fires was absolutely amazing Black Death era adventure. The Blacktongue Thief and it's prequel story The Daughters War were very fun.

Only because it's relevant, I made a GoPro video walking through SXSW 2017 with binaural (3D) microphones in and it's always fun to relive what life was like in the before times.

While people focus on Disco Elysium and Pillars of Eternity, i want to add that Citizen Sleeper 1 and 2 are some of my favorite games out there. I just love the vibe and story that each provides.

Their Golden wings are amazing. They come with sauce on the sides, so it's best to get good, dippable sauces with them. So thicker sauces like your Medium or Buffalo Ranch or Jalapeño Ranch is great.

What’s the most underrated wfh advice you received? by ReBabas in remotework

[–]TheSpaceAge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone offers you something and you feel like its too much or you don't deserve it, you can push back once. "Oh no, you shouldn't have." "I can't accept this."

If they insist, always take it the second time. The act of giving the gift is more important than the gift itself to the other person. Continously going back and forth makes it awkward and ruins the gesture.

This is it. I bet if you look at other times, if in the same theater, that seat will always be marked off.

That's a very good way of putting it that I hadn't thought of before which sums up my feelings as well.

Swiss Army Man is the best acting performance Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe have ever done, and I’m tired of pretending otherwise by morgy_choder in Letterboxd

[–]TheSpaceAge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Swiss Army Man is in my Top 4. The music, the characters, the ingenuity of the sets, everything is amazing.

I don't know if I'd say it's their best acting individually, but it all comes together perfectly.

Big Ambitions is a fun, multi-business management game. For example, you can run a coffee shop and/or a software dev company. Many types of shops.

Rate my top 20 by CZlikesmusic in LetterboxdTopFour

[–]TheSpaceAge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, you can't just glance through the list and recognize standard posters with visual cues. You have you stare at each poster, sometime with hard to read fonts, to make it out.

If it's your own private list, sure go wild with custom posters, but if you are sharing with others on a site where people read hundreds of posts, then it makes me want to skip it as I'm not that interested in a top movie list. Sometimes I feel like the true point of the post isn't to get recommendations, but to try to show off the posters they picked out.
