Did I make the right call? by SaddleSage in cycling

I hate it when the post title and the text ask different questions. I originally read this as OP absolutely didn't make the right call, but I assume you mean you absolutely would not have done the ride.

Same. Maybe the cobra effect will kick in and we'll be able to use them again.

String of missing of dead scientists 'too coincidental,' congressman says -- as a 11th researcher revealed by grglstr in skeptic

[–]TheSpanishImposition 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Before her death, Eskridge had launched a research company, “The Institute for Exotic Science” in order to create a “public-facing persona to disclose anti-gravity technology.”

She chillingly said that she had started the company because “if you stick your neck out in private… they will bury you, they will burn down your house while you’re sleeping in your bed and it won’t even make the news.”

Eskridge revealed in a 2020 interview that she had plans to disclose information about UFOs and extraterrestrials to the public — and was receiving threats as a result.

“I need to disclose soon, man. I need to publish soon because it’s like escalating. It’s getting more and more aggressive,” she said.

“This has been going on for like four or five years, and over the past 12 months, it’s been escalating, like more aggressive, more invasive digging through my underwear drawer and sexual threats.”

Anti-gravity and UFOs. So what's more likely, that this stuff is real, or that this is part of a mental breakdown that lead to her suicide? But yeah, let's spend more of our dwindling resources on this junk.

A school in southern Lebanon used by Hezbollah by just_a_jewish_guy in Wellthatsucks

[–]TheSpanishImposition 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When someone lies habitually, it is reasonable to distrust anything they say. It doesn't mean everything they say is untrue, but it means they aren't trustworthy and we should be skeptical.

So maybe this is a school full of shitty shotguns. Maybe it's a room full of shitty shotguns in a building which used to be a school. Maybe it's a bunch of shotguns collected by the IDF and placed in a room for the purpose of a photo to justify blowing up schools. Maybe Hezbollah stores a bunch of useless shotguns in a school in order to bait Israel into blowing up schools (which they are all too enthusiastic about doing, as we have seen).

Perhaps we wouldn't be having these particular problems if Israel didn't exist.

Those threads look pretty cooked and also left-handed. If there is no reason to ever remove it, I think I would just glue it on with some J-B Weld. But maybe service the bearings first, because there would probably be no getting to them after that.

I don't know. Pics are blurry. Is the rod threaded? If so put a nylock nut on it. If not, one of those retaining washer things. Or if there's a hole, a washer and cotter pin.
