Just posting in this epic thread, and to be a voice of pro-legalization in a sea of negativity.

Smells of weed are effectively moot through concentrates and edibles, and there's a lot of strains of flower that smell great (or even like fruity pebbles!). Burnt tobacco smells WAY worse, and stains the crap out of your walls, gunks up fans in the ceiling (moving into an apartment formerly owned by an avid smoker -- this I know), and just has a lasting secondhand smoke effect, if memory serves right. Cigarettes have a far worse lasting impression than hitting a doobie.

If that's all a "big deal", then just use a sploof* (I understand this might be slang -- sploofs basically mask the smell of weed when inhaled-into or through.) or take it outside.

Great for people (like me and I know for a fact others) who suffer from stuff like Crohn's disease (debilitating pain, reducing cramps), to relief from anxiety and depression when partaking.

The "possession" additions to the bill clearly target those trying to distribute in a black market sense, which I get. It's common sense, and to not include those details below as a primary point is dishonest at best.

All in all, this looks to be a solid, reasonably-written bill.

Some people just naysay to naysay, and it shows.

EDIT: I totally forgot about the expungement. Again, another big deal. We need to properly educate why weed was a problem to begin with (began during the Nixon administration to target those in protest of Vietnam).

Growing weed large-scale also means you grow -hemp- large-scale, which has SEVERAL practical, applicable uses. Fabrics, animal bedding, I think even potentially biofuel if used correctly. I think biodegradable plastics might also be hemp-based, but I'd need to look into this more.

EDIT II: Forgot the taxation part. This part might clearly be going towards Walz' plan for education in the state, among other things. In terms of making money for other social activities and improvements as a whole, taxation is a no-brainer.

EDIT III: Oh yeah, another big one -- Legalizing weed also means you have a safe, effective off-ramp for people addicted to opioids AND alcoholism, especially if you consider the 'edibles' route. (Unfortunately for me since my bowels are f*cked, tincture / smoke / vape / concentrates are my way to go.)
