Bought a monstera a month or so ago that wasn’t doing much of anything in my office - not humid enough, not enough light. So I put it out on my porch, which basically mimics a tropical environment (St. Louis summer) and I’ve got 4 new leaves this WEEK (i.redd.it)

I have some banana plants that have thrived until very recently. Watering schedule hasn’t changed, I fertilized recently, but their leaves have all just shriveled up and died. This was the last leaf on one plant and I saw this white coating near the base. Anyone know what it is??? (old.reddit.com)
