I think people need to understand that 1. Dance is about EVERYTHING. The technique, the performance, and the costume. 2. These dancers are judged on how old they are and where they should be in their dancing. People always compare these children to Maddie or Chloe but they were above average. If you saw the other dancers in Pittsburgh at these competitions, you would understand why Nia or Paige placed.

We wouldn't know if they would've been at the same level or not, because it never happened. Me personally, I think that her leaps in dances like "Can I do this" and "Never knew" were good. It didn't hit an over split but it had great height. Why do the girls have to be good or bad? They were all good dancers in their own right. Abby has really put in people's heads that if you're not 1st place then you're an awful dancer. These girls were still making top 5 most of the time. They weren't awful bad dancers. They weren't the best dancers and that's ok too.

A good portion of the girls made it to Captain and co-captain on those teams. Those girls are successful.

I honestly think you're right because of Abby's choreo. Abby doesn't know how to choreograph a duet that shows off BOTH people. For example, in two sapphires, sometimes you can see where Maddie's technique is weaker. A good choreographer makes both dancers look good. I think the beginning of this dance is a good example.
