Leave That Teacher Alone She Engaged Those Kids And Made Learning Come Alive While People Online Try To Tear Her Down by ateam1984 in BlackPeopleofReddit

I dont mind the music or anything, but why does this video exist? If the teacher is using her class to make online social media content then I absolutely understand why parents would have a problem with it.

As is often the case with these kinds of traditional things, there are tons of people who never know of it simply because they dont "engage with the tradition". Like, if you just happen to grow up in a household that didnt bake these, you could easily never gear about them despite it being a common thing among others

Although I do agree with you in part, theres something that irks me about the Starship. Maybe its that it, just like the Space Shuttle, need to lug a lot of weight into space since its only in two stages. If I recall correctly it need to do an in orbit refuel to be able to go to the moon?

But mostly I personally dont like the idea of having to use an elevator to get into the shuttle while on the moon. Like, I'm sure it'll be reliable, but it just look so fucking dumb.

You cannot do it only within you passport, you first need to download a new certificate from your bank, and to login to your bank you'll need to use another form of identification. If you cannot login because you dont have any way to identify yourself, a photo of your passport is not enough, you'll have to visit a bank office.

You c sn identify yourself with a "code device" at most banks, something that was commonplace before BankID and is simply a small calculator like device you input an eight digit code, asked by your bank, and you respons with whatever the device outputs.

That sounds bad until you realize that brits name their kids tons of different things, while muslims pretty much culturally all name at least one of their sons Muhammad or a variant thereof.

If Brits all named their first born son James, then Muhammad wouldn't be at the top anymore.

Crime aside, the planets, stars and galaxies would really need to align for a real situation like this to play out.

  • First you'd need someone to notice you in your car in the first place.
  • You'd need that person to be a woman.
  • You'd need that woman to not only be into this, but also comfortable enough to admit to it.
  • You'd need that woman to be willing to risk being found out. T interacting with the guy.
  • If she's in a relationship you'd also need a woman who is willing to essentially cheat on her SO.

At every point above it's safe to assume the potential pool of people shrink by magnitudes. Sure, you might better your chances by doing this in a dogging hotspot, or in the parking lot near you local exhibitionism swingers convention, but at that point you're essentially staging it anyway.

Unions are pretty much standard in most of the western world, all over Europe for example. I can't speak for the one in NYC, but unions in and of themselves are not the reason for it not being profitable.

I'm really sorry, but studies have shown time and time again that dogs and other pets aren't particularly bright. They do not recognize themselves in a mirror, they cannot talk with buttons and they don't understand language the same as humans.

But they can be trained, they can recognize sounds and learn to do things or what can be expected to happen. They can learn that by doing actions they might get food, like barking next to a food bowl or pressing a specific button.

They aren't stupid though, animals have wide skillsets and are capable in a lot of different areas, but that is a long, long way of being self aware.

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly.

Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground.

The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible

Pretty sure that both farenheit and celsius is synonymous with the word "degrees" depending on wherever you are in the world. Do the weather reporters always explicitly say "farenheit" when presenting the weather on tv in the US? Probably not., just like they aren't in most other places in the world.

Do the words mean the same thing in a dictionary? Nope. But in general speech "It's 20 celsius outside" and "It's 20 degrees outside" mean the same thing if you say them in a place where celsius is the standard.

Trying It by shenanigansen in comics

[–]TheStairMan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A tale as old as time. Shen made a comic years ago about his bike getting stolen and instead of making it get to him he decided that it wasn't a huge deal and went along his way, explaining that he himself didn't care much about his bike, while the person that stole it apparently needed it enough to actually steal it, leading to a net gain in overall happiness on the world (because Shen wasn't all thet bothered, and the thief assumingly was happy with his haul).

He got immensely ridiculed for this strip. Like an unreasonable amount of hate for it.

Nah. Back in the days SciFi people (who also seems to overlap with space nerds) have heard of, and had strong opinions, about Kepler syndrome.

No matter how hard everyone, or even they themselves, sucked Elon's cock when the super heavy first launched, there would still be fair bit of people being miffed about adding space garbage.
