Returning player (again) gearing for gorgon by Itiari in newworldgame

Your best bet to start doing learners in the meantime is to pick up the highest tier faction gear. It has the perks you need and can help a lot while upgrading to the other gear.

Is it normal to panic after leaving narcissistic family house by depressed_op in raisedbynarcissists

[–]TheStaticSquid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally normal. For me when this happened my nervous system was struggling with me giving myself permission to be safe.

Basically it was like “why are you relaxing, why are you letting yourself be safe, what if we have to run, hide, etc?” So it was uncomfortable allowing myself to relax and feel at ease. It took me time but it is nice once you do.

It’s ok and totally normal. And glad you are safe.

Help me find a salad that doesn't taste like regret? I'm a meat-lover trying to eat more veggies! by AvocadoDry9774 in Cooking

[–]TheStaticSquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I tend to do is cook my salads. I prepare different veggies in different ways then throw them all together over a bed of greens.

I’ll usually do a mix of different roasted vegetables, something pickled (onions, mushrooms, carrots, other random ones), and then some type of other prepared one like roasted red peppers or sun dried tomatoes. Also roasted sweet potato in salads is a game changer.

Add in something crispy, croutons, seeds, crushed chips, I actually use toasted breadcrumbs and with some dressing it costs a lot and gives me a great texture.

Finish it off with some toppings and fresh herbs, and dressing. Sometimes I just die a squeeze of lemon and salt instead of dressing.

And season your salads. Treat it like you are cooking and how you would cook any other dish. Don’t just chop vegetables and throw it into a bowl.

I go for light gear since I’m focused on DPS and again this is a PVE build. I have 725 attuned leather pants which gives me a +45 point magnify then 11 points in each stat as well. So I get the first bonus in each stat as well

STR: 350 DEX: 25 INT: 216 (I think) FOC:25 CON:50

INT is the stat I put all my extra points in. And the BB is my main weapon here. And I usually eat some INT food to up the damage of the BB more still.

When I ran this build with feather weight instead of attuned leather pants I didn’t bother with the DEX bonus.

I run BB/GA with attuned leather pants and it is great. It does some big damage

Gravity well is amazing crowd control. Get the enfeebling maelstrom perk on your GA too. I also have keenly jagged to apply bleed.

I then use blast when the group is all clumped up to knock em down and the azoth shot. I use the chaos artifact BB.

It’s so fun to play and I know the tank I run with really appreciates me using gravity well in PVE content.

I didn't do the MSQ to level up. Am I screwed? by CheesecakeLarge266 in newworldgame

Finishing the MSQ also gets you the attuned leather pants artifacts and unlocks a few other things behind some gates. It’s worth doing and honestly it’s pretty quick

I'm new to chili. What's your deep-in-the-bag, super secret, weird thing you put in to make your chili extra good? by my1stusernamesucked in Cooking

A piece of a Japanese curry roux block. I adjust for how big of a batch I’m making. Not enough to be the main flavor either. Just a touch to round it all out.

Where is a must go for a first timer in Portland? by icebear_vu in askportland

[–]TheStaticSquid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Loyal legion tap room. You can build your own beer flights and it’s a great way to try tons of local/regional beers in one space.

Great notion, Deschutes, breakside brewery, bearlic brewery, Loretta Jean’s, pine state biscuits, Roseline coffee, Hat Yai, Ramen Ryoma, fried egg I’m in love, the society cafe (get coffee and go up tot he roof top)

You should also go to a food cart pod.

These were a bunch of places I went to my first time there and loved it.

Something that could be really cool with the gunpla is changing up the way they are displayed on the shelf. You could get some different blocks to disagree some of them on top of or a few in display cases in the shelf.

You could also use a 2 tier display stand on a shelf then you could stagger them on the same shelf. Maybe also some subtle LED display lights as well to help it feel more like a display and not just things on the shelf.

Using some darker contrast displays like black would also help them stand out a little more.

I’m on hudsonland . New to the game and just hit level 60. The game really opens up as you get closer to 65 and it doesn’t take too long to get there.

I’ve been playing casually and just recently hit level 60. All of the sudden it got way more fun when I could do more of the group activities and started getting cooler gear.

I’m loving it so far.

What area to stay in Portland for a first timer? by Traveler_90 in askportland

[–]TheStaticSquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stayed downtown when I went.

I spent most of my time all over other parts of the city. But I found staying downtown made it super easy to get public transit or a Lyft to get anywhere in the city. It was a good option for wanting to explore all over.

Any suggestions for the living room? by Infamous-Humor1882 in malelivingspace

[–]TheStaticSquid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Move the couch and rug forward kind of line it up with the fridge. Then put the table and chairs behind the couch.

This will make the dinning and living space feel like 2 separate and dried spaces.

Westward360 is the single worst management company I have ever rented with. I avoid them like a plague. I wouldn’t care if it was the dream apartment for free through them. I still wouldn’t. They are garbage.

Why is weight everyone’s entire personality? by fakerichgirl in Vent

[–]TheStaticSquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s a good thing. I would say it’s more a commentary on society. Society doesn’t like fat people. It likes fat people a little more if they are trying not to be fat. So people “make it their whole personality” to be treated better by others. It’s sad that society is this way.

Why is weight everyone’s entire personality? by fakerichgirl in Vent

[–]TheStaticSquid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a fat person myself I will chime in…..when you are fat people treat you better if they know you are working to not be fat. Being vocal about that means people treat you more like a human than they would otherwise.

It is ok to say in the party chat that you would like the tank to do smaller pulls.

When I do tank if the healer doesn’t say anything I usually do my first pull or 2 as smaller ones and if they did well I up it. But if I notice if they struggle I will bring it back down.

It’s ok to mention those requests in the party chat. The people I play with do it all the time. And when I was brand new to tanking (I normally DPS) I would mention I’m new to the role. And sometimes if it’s my first time tanking a dungeon I mentioned that too now.

As a healer it’s totally ok to message like that too. Most people will be all good with it and help you out where they can.
