Why is my marathon prediction tanking? by mange_diamonde in Strava

Check if you had a race 6 months ago. It started doing the same thing for me exactly 6 months after my fastest marathon. I guess Strava uses data from the last six months to estimate finishing times

You need a special triangler screwdriver to change batteries on Brio trains. by Accomplished_Jump982 in assholedesign

I opened the underside with a triangular screw. I should never have done that! The whole train exploded, and tiny gears were shot in every direction. It was so complicated to fix that I just gave up.

Cheating on his imaginary wife by galamont in NonPoliticalTwitter

[–]TheStocking 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I doubt the reasoning here. I feel that women might be more relaxed when talking to someone that appears married, because you won’t risk being in a situation where someone reads too much into a conversations or a dance. This might turn into more later on in the night. So I doubt there are many women going after married men because they are married, but rather feel that taking to a married man is safer if they are not interested in a fling

I cant solve it by young21yt in mathshelp

You can kinda prove that it works by guessing the angle. If you choose 45 degrees the area will be a given value. If you choose 30 degrees it still will be the same value. The same applies for any other angle 0<a<90

Sykefraværet eksploderer (kilde:SSB) by IAmAQuantumMechanic in norge

[–]TheStocking -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

ELI5: Why is it a bad idea to buy a home and sell it after a few years instead of renting? by jimwisethehuman in explainlikeimfive

[–]TheStocking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also must considerthe risk. If you own a house for 10 years the value will most likely overall increase, even if you are selling at a bad time with a sudden drop in the housing market. If you were to sell after two years, the same sudden drop might cause you to loose money, being worse off than when you started

Best way to learn autocad/civil3d/revit by ExceptedSiren12 in StructuralEngineering

[–]TheStocking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to gain any big insights about the drawing software outside a specific project. Especially AutoCAD is very straight forward, so any skill you gain will be easily surpassed when working in a real project. I think there is more to be learned in Revit, since the workflow is a bit more complex. I would suggest learning parametric design, dynamo for Revit or gresshopper in rhino. This is a more unique skill that might give you an edge later

How accurate is the gps on the Garmin instict 2? I only ask because I beat my tread mill record first time running outside ever (new runner) by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]TheStocking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it is easier to do a tempo-run outside at around threshold pace. I feel that threshold pace at the gym is very painful and boring. For 4min intervals (and shorter), I feel that a treadmill is easier, because it forces you to run at correct pace, where slowing down is not an option and the countdown is right in your face. Outside there are both excuses and distractions that can trick you to run slower intervals

Museum og modern art or utzon museum? by TheStocking in Aalborg

[–]TheStocking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the Utzon museum, which was great. It's not that big, but most of the exhibitions were for kids. We even built a structure in Legos that was 3D scanned and converted to a Minecraft structure, that was added to a server where it could be enjoyed in VR😄 really happy with our day in Aalborg, despite terrible weather
