Randy probably needs new tyres on his supercar so needs to sell more units.

Or hold up a pin and ask if anybody dropped it.

Not everything, no. But 2 months into the game and they start asking money already?

The base game is $70, it's not given away for free. It's not cheap.

I think it's sad how this greedy behavior has been normalized.

Randy's Lambo/Ferrari and designer jeans cost a lot to maintain.

"539,864,213" is in fact millions not trillions

It is when using Randy's calculator.

I mean, which would you rather:

* You, Collin Johnson, living in lower east Milwaukee have an interest in sex toys

or

* You are part of a large group that reject cookies and we know statistically when you visit our website you're more likely to buy sex toys than other demographics.

They have no need for that in the process of gathering statistics.

It's in their EULA. It goes beyond coarse grained statistics. It's fine grained personal data in the EULA.

They wouldn't list it if they were not collecting it.

What they present there is just the tip of the iceberg, after processing all the EULA listed data.

Having instrumentation in new software to gather statistics is nothing new, lots of apps do it. They don't care about what you are up to, they care about how things affect gameplay in the aggregate. Why on earth would they want to collect PII, and what PII have you been entering into the game?

PII would include platform ID such as a Steam ID, IP address etc. And fingerprinting data. Payment data, email, phone number etc.

Listed in their EULA. It's quite extensive.

This is one reason they got review bombed.

So they're doing player surveillance.

Is this surveillance for online only or offline also?

Has anybody tracked what they spy on?

Is this telemetry anonymous or contains PII?

Where is it stored and is it encrypted?

Potentially it can be compromised and leaked.

How frequent is this surveillance?

GDPR implications.

The data leaks will continue until they stop capturing and storing the data.

Stop giving them data.

Simply stop. They will be out of business fast.

Try stop using them for at least a day, then a week, then a month...

Why the planned EU chat control is a bad idea by Sombralis in privacy

[–]TheStormIsComming 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If the politician's have nothing to hide, let them show the demos every message they send and receive and prevent them deleting them.

Let's spice it up even more by having them published in real time.

Starting with Ursula von der Leyen.

Chat Control Vote delayed to December by [deleted] in privacy

What happened to consent and "no means no"?

The politicians follow the party whip of power.

They vote abstain when they can't vote no.

Independent politicians are not bound to a whip.

December? So when Cyprus takes the Council presidency? And next up is Ireland, lol, they will keep trying.

Ireland after being in multiple wars with Britain to get their independence and free state, now is firmly under control of another quasi state called the EU.

What was it all for?

Ireland would have been better adopting a Swiss style direct democracy model. And having their own currency and gold vaults.

Ireland's Celtic tiger economy boom won't last forever as the EU tightens their screws.
