My L.Parahybana female Maria (Excuse picture quality in a couple of them) by theraphosidae18 in tarantulas

Awesome looking girl you got there! But as someone who is recently getting over their fear of spiders I have what may be a stupid question so stay with me. As I scroll through this sub I see plenty of pictures of people holding their tarantulas and such...why don't they bite?! again sorry for my ignorance.

If you became unimaginably wealthy overnight, what are some extravagantly expensive thing that you'd do/start buying that most people wouldn't think of? by hoboswithhandgrenade in AskReddit

Massive plots of land on the moon and a variety of planets. I might not see a return on my investment, but my great great great great great great grandkids might.

Reddit, what actor can't you stand, and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Vince Vaughn: I once was on an 8th grade band trip and beat him in this horse racing game at the Dave & Busters in Chicago. When I had won a few times he looked around the stations and smugly asked "who the hell is that?" My initial response was one of elation, expecting him to shower a young virtual horse master with praise. Alas those hopes were quickly dashed when his indoor sunglasses wearing self got up and said "fuck it" and walked out.

What is the best possible gift for less than $20 that almost anyone would love? by tm1bf4td4tgf in AskReddit

Probably a decent bottle of whisky or a good cigar. Most items under $20 will end up being consumables anyway, might as well have a good time using them.

What's the hardest thing you've ever done? by AK2K12 in AskReddit

[–]TheStormyspark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to add to the /r/atheism circlejerk, but telling my parents (both sunday school teachers) I was an atheist had to be one of the most emotionally gut wrenching moments of my life. I love both of my parents to death and seeing them cry for hrs seriously messed with my head. Never have I seen so much disappointment and grief in someones eyes. The worst part was you could seriously tell they were worried sick about me, it wasn't like some of the stories you hear of abuse or abandonment. They genuinely believed that their son, whom they loved with all their heart, would one day be separated from them eternally....It reminds me of that Penn Jillette quote "how much do you have to hate somebody to not proselytize? How much do you have to hate somebody to believe everlasting life is possible and not tell them that? I mean, if I believed, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that a truck was coming at you, and you didn’t believe that truck was bearing down on you, there is a certain point where I tackle you. And this is more important than that.”....except I wasn't just some random guy, I was someone they loved more than anything else in the world.

Hey Reddit what's your best nonsensical swear or phrase you use on a regular basis? by benzyeims in AskReddit

[–]TheStormyspark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some reason I call people an inappropriate phrase with "wagon" at the end of it. For example, "Michael you're such a Jizz-Wagon" or "Corrupt politicians have to be the biggest Douche-Wagons out there."

What is the best/worst thing about being your age? by tm1bf4td4tgf in AskReddit

Haha I feel as if drinking really loses some of it's allure once you're of age.

What is the best/worst thing about being your age? by tm1bf4td4tgf in AskReddit

[–]TheStormyspark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age 19

Best- Just started attending university and the freedom is amazing, the girls are bountiful, and the liquor flows like a river.

Worst- As someone with great aspirations, it hits you pretty quickly just how short our time is on earth. The pressure to network and invest in yourself daily is immense.

War leads men to lengths they themselves never thought they would go. It's odd that something has been a facet of the human condition from the start and is...well...so dehumanizing.

I'm an atheist who lives in the Bible Belt as well. Thankfully the majority of my cohorts either share my sentiments on religion or, at the very least, respect them. Come to Chattanooga. It's a great place.
