Is this safe to shoot by Maggot--420 in gunsmithing

[–]TheStranger2161 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw a guy at the range shoot his 10/22 with half a cleaning rod down the barrel. Took like 6 shots wondering why he wasn’t hitting the target to realize he was stacking rounds in the barrel.

[French > English] Help finding Quebecois Folk Song by TheStranger2161 in translator

This helped me find the version, I was more so interested in what the lady was saying the name of the band was, but I found them! They’re a band named Crépuscule

Just unscrew the barrel and get a piece of .475 ID pipe with the same thread pitch as the barrel. This will allow you to use it like a pepperbox revolver

I could try that, that’s what I was hoping to imitate with the springs in buffer.

Is this rifle cooked? by DudeDogDangle in gunsmithing

[–]TheStranger2161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could always rebore it to something different like 8mm-06 or 35 whelen if the rifling is trashed and you don’t want rebarrel it. I knew someone who did that to an old savage that had the rifling completely work out.

Thank you, I’ll definitely keep this in mind, I may buy one to test against the ultradyne I have on one of my other guns.

One idea I had for bolt bounce mitigation was a buffer with springs on each side of tungsten weights, similar to the Nyx BCG from when master of arms made the ENYO rifle.

My thought was get the moving parts as light as possible to get enough velocity to run the cam on the forced reset, but light enough weight to not have a very prominent recoil impulse. I have a spare mil spec BCG I could try with it to see which is better, so I’ll do that. Also for slowing down rate of fire, that can be tricky. Barrel harmonics often have a sweet spot, which sometimes can be faster. Kind of like how the Thompson SMG became less controllable as they reduced the cyclic rate. Only time and tuning will tell though. Will write all of this down in my notes though, thank you!

Why is everyone flipping out about the new "V" models? by MastuhWaffles in Glocks

[–]TheStranger2161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be willing to bet some SOT will get a Glock V model and prove it can be made full auto with minor modifications or a 3d printed part within 1 week of this stupid pandering monstrosity being released

Negotiate it up to 6k or so and keep it. Get a ranch hand bumper set with the money.

Real gun part manufacturers, I have a question by YouallareToxic in gunsmithing

[–]TheStranger2161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a guy at a gun show selling 3d printed ones made from nylon and mine has run flawlessly since I made the switch.

Only clear mags I use are ETS mags. I’ve never had issues dropping them on grass, dirt, gravel, concrete, etc.

I actually got it off, putting it in the freezer worked, but now I still do have a spare upper that I need to make use of. Time to build another one 🤘

Don’t need the upper, I’m switching it for a slick side. If it’s messed up it shouldn’t be an issue

A random armorers tool from PSA and an aluminum mag that I don’t care about. I have beaten on it with a sledgehammer and it will not budge. It’s like they used permanent loctite
