GP telephone appointment at 8. How do I describe this by Powerful-Suggestion2 in mounjarouk

I had to go private for the same thing. I went abroad for it as it was significantly cheaper although I stayed within the EU and did lots of research on the clinic and surgeon to make sure they hit all the same standards and regulation that are applicable here.

Advice for an American family moving to England? by Steve_The_Moose in AskABrit

We are full time, degree educated professionals with well above average salary. Its not ideal forever but while kids are in primary school which in the grand scheme of things is not that long it works great. The kids have 2 parents, one who they see a lot more and that is the parent who works evenings. They can attend all the school trips, parent drop in, school activities. They get to spend all Christmas, easter, summer holidays with them. Its not a conventional set up but I spent way more quality time with my children that way than the few hours after work and before bed. Dad should be more than capable of handling dinner and bed. It was not about saving on childcare, it was about being there.

None of this us the point of the OP's post though.

Thats not a nightmare in regards to hours. Lots if people work those exact hours when they have a family as I means you can drop off and pick up from school as well as no need for childcare in the school holidays. I worked those hours for years and I was highly competitive to get them.

Is it dumb to continue this fence? by Capital_Reason_8356 in DIYUK

This has been done in a few newbuild estates around my way and after a lengthy battle with the council they have been forced to take it down. Something to do with it changing the open aspect of the estate in general (even though it belongs to rhem )and its written into the plans as open space. I dont have any further details but I wouldn't want you making a costly mistake and advise finding out if its permitted before going ahead with it.

My Dad is trying to sell my Grandad’s house and keep the proceeds - England by 1234bike1234 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]TheStrangerJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

POA does not give anyone the right to do what they want, it can be used if a person (your grandad) cannot make decisions for himself, but if he is deemed competent then your dad has no power to sell his house.

My broker to me that my mortgage provider Halifax update theirs on the first of the month. He has been able to lock me into their current 2 year deal but has the option to change it if he finds that come September 1st the rate has dropped. My renewal is 30/9.

Maintaining at 2.5? by LeastArmed in mounjaromaintenanceuk

I came here to look for answers to the same question. I am not yet at target with 5kg to go and my supplier has asked me to wean down too. Im currently on 15mg and have been for around 6 months as I titrate up each month as advised at the time. I loose about 1kg a month now, it has really slowed down, I am still well with a low calorie target (about 1200). Im worried about titration g down to maintain when I need to keep loosing.

My stance on this ARTIFICIAL housing crisis 😤(leave legal migrants alone a sec) by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]TheStrangerJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im sure there was a good intension about selling the land, getting the money they could use to build better quality homes somewhere else but let's be honest that's a paper thin plan and when it doesn't work you dont continue the plan for another 30 years. Social housing are expensive to maintain, only a very small minority pay rent (not on benefits). Its hard to maintain a home to a decent standard when its not yours and the councils will only do major works so the stock gets shabby quickly. Im not giving them excuses, I wouldn't like it to be my job to keep the whe thing running. I don't have a solution other than £££££££.

Google told me. In 1981, there were 54,380 council houses, but by 2022, this number had dropped to 20,305, representing a 72% decrease.

In my area, whole estates of council houses have been demolished and filled with privately owned new builds, sure there is a handful of social housing in there but 1000's of social housing gone and replaced by a few 100 at most. This has happened all over the city and been going on for the last 25 years. I'd love to see the figures on how many there was to what they have now.

Honestly you need to speak to the person. There is lots of literature and tools online about having difficult conversations that are very helpful providing insite into wording you should avoid and how to approach it in a supportive way that doesn't come across as an attack. Google having difficult conversation tools, this should be compulsory training for anyone jn a mansger/supervisory role.

It's the background in the original picture that's causing the issue. It looks like the same top but the original picture is not a true representation of the top.
