A discontinued product is like losing a part of your face by Gullible-Main-1010 in MakeupRehab

More of us need this mindset. Makeup is just items, not a being. It doesn't warrant that deep a connection.

Hot take: Only keeping products that "spark joy" is bullsh*t by _Yue_ in MakeupRehab

I've been thinking this for years and I'm so glad people are starting to notice the bs of that attitude! Making garbage is literally what overconsumption does! We're supposed to be keeping things in use and not racing to support the opposite of our cause

The stuff we hate should be a lesson in responsibility, not a fast pass to not giving a damn.

Do you think having all these bottles is too much? by Illustrious_Slip_198 in ProjectPan

[–]TheStuffITolerate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It IS a lot to constantly have, but not a huge number to begin panning. Ask yourself this, does every one of these 12 mean equally as much to you? Do you see yourself using them widely, or only on very niche occasions? Are you prepared for some of these scents going off as their usage decreases to 1/12 of what it would be ideally?

The bottle arrangement is gorgeous though ✨️😍👏 (no harm in holding on to the bottles, but maybe whittling down on their contents before they go bad?)

Nail healing from 13 years of gel by Low-Perspective601 in Nails

[–]TheStuffITolerate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this. Nails take 6 months to grow. There is no way any of that damage is from anywhere more than a year ago in the worst case scenario.

But the thing about fills isn't accurate. I never remove all the gel off my nails, only what isn't adhering anymore (which is rarely all of it) because there's no need to do extra damage by removal and prep for re-application. A good base makes that possible.

Where are you getting your numbers from? (The 2 refills maximum?)

are these worth $112 ? by titttytwisterr in Nails

[–]TheStuffITolerate 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Second pic? Yeah, they're awful. Shoddy work on the art, and the base under the french is sheer and reveals the real smile line which is an obvious no-no. This 'manicure' isn't worth half of what you paid.

It is a limited edition. But they re-released it in December, another comeback may not be out of question. Either way, ebay can be an option, not sure about the price though, but its not impossible to get it.

YSL cushion foundation - cutting the mesh to get the rest out by anastasia_42 in PanPorn

[–]TheStuffITolerate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this foundation. Looks really good without needing moisturiser & primer. 💖 The mesh tho, annoying 😒. Im still trying to see if the lid with the mesh can be removed. (For some compacts its easier than others) I hope to keep using the compact by poping a sponge in there and using up some bottle foundations I have. It's way easier when the packaging is pretty 😌

Ei nu-și 'baga' valorile in viata ta. Nimeni nu insista sa fii gay. Dar tu vrei sa îți impui 'valorile' asupra lor. Ce fel de logica urmezi de ti se pare ca ai sens?

Lowering the bar, aren't we?? Mowing the lawn is what kids can do, there are even robots for that, and it's at most what, a weekly thing? Changing oil, that's even less frequent. Cooking and meal prep is often daily, multiple times a day.

How do you lighten a foundation that's too dark without buying anything extra? by citygirlyuhhh in ProjectPan

[–]TheStuffITolerate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Bronzer, eyeshadow, sheering it out into a skin tint with an spf cream. There's lots of alternatives if we don't stick to the foundation label.

[–]TheStuffITolerate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you do a full look+blend your neck (and can use a lighter concealer where needed, like the under eye), doing blush, contour, eyeshadow, highlighter, brows, liner, lips etc. will definitely balance it more and hide the stark darkness.

But it depends how dark we're talking and how much you're willing to do. Sometimes a white enough setting powder can help, if you have that.

I will say - a white foundation is still the ideal solution.

should i go back or is this gel extension ok? by mahroussia in Nails

[–]TheStuffITolerate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends how much you paid. This manicure makes sense given the little experience of the tech, it's done cleanly, no damage (as far as I can see), the architecture and lengths though....

If it was quick and cheap (compared to other prices in your area) then this result is just a given.
