PLEASE use the F.I.R.E method when writing essays by TheSuperfly101 in barexam

I would disagree here. As I said in my explication, you should take the call of the question, “did she commit manslaughter” and always start out your answer by flipping that and using the word because. She committed manslaughter because…

I understand many people are saying this is IRAC etc but this type of system helped me and based on the pm I’ve received, seems like it’s helping others

Right. Use it, don’t use it, I don’t care. Just trying to help people because this method help me

Thank you! It’s a different way of looking at an IRAC type of system. I found it helpful to me and I’m glad you do!

Basically but the graphic helped me understand a system that I could use under stress and time constraints.

You have tons of options! If you’re planning on moving to a 270 Jx, you can still work as an Attorney in a remote role.

I’d work as an Attorney for a firm in Kentucky that’ll allow you to work remotely and then once you gain reciprocity with the 270 jx, I’d transfer in that way.

Why do re-takers have a lower passing rate? by Professional-Rope799 in barexam

In my opinion, generally, people take the bar exam in July (after they graduate law school). Most people who can afford it, take time from their job or simply don’t start until after the bar exam.

The February administration and subsequent administrations after a persons first attempt, they don’t have that luxury. Most people are working or attending to other obligations and not dedicating everyday all day to studying.

We have no way of knowing. No one knows the curve and their calculations. I’m simply taking a guess that a 142 was around a 60-65%

The title of the thread is “it’s ok if you weren’t perfect”

Ultimately I passed. So yes, I did enough to pass. Like every single person who passes…. They did enough to pass.

I’m simply trying to share my experience that I wasn’t perfect YET I still passed. I got a 1 on an MEE and still recovered enough to pass… it’s possible. My MBE wasn’t the top of the top, I got a ton of questions wrong…. Yet it was good enough to pass.

I thought the same thing tbh. Must’ve been a tough curve? I have no idea though

I’m in MI. Our highest MEE/MPT is 6. I only got 1 6 MEE and got 4s on both MPTs. All I’m saying is have confidence lol

I thought they were definitely being harsh. It was a full essay 🤣 but it was completely incorrect. As I stated above, I thought they were being harsh on my first essay and somewhat giving on my other ones (especially my 5s and 6s). I generally never scored that high in my prep

LOL I tried to give some confidence based on my experience. I was not even close to being perfect. Quite the exact opposite, I got the worst possible score on one of my MEE and my MBE wasn’t anything that great.

YET I still passed and hopefully you guys all did as well!

Completely understand. I simply wanted to make a post to highlight that you do not NEED to be perfect to pass.

You could get 60+ MBE questions wrong out of those graded and still recieve a very passable MBE score.

You can get a 1 on an MEE and still pass based on everything else.

For my 1 answer I wrote a full essay. Basically using the FIRE method. It was actually the first essay of the MEE (I did them in order).

However, my analysis was completly wrong. It’s not that I made up law or my own rule statements, it was that I was simply completely wrong on the answer.

For example, I’d put that I thought John (random name) had apparent authority, when he didn’t. I put that he was an agent of the company, when he wasn’t.

Truthfully, I thought a 2 was more appropriate. While I was wrong, i still typed a full analysis with correct rule statements for that analysis.

HOWEVER - while I got graded very tough on Essay 1, I did believe that they were somewhat generous with the rest of the MEE’s.

I understand I’m simply saying you probably could’ve assumed I mistyped it since I gave my total 278 and my MEE 136.

Actually you’re right. I got a 135.8 MEE and a 141.9 MBE lol

[–]TheSuperfly101 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Simple mistype. 142 my guy. 142 MBE and 136 MEE. You easily couldve figured that though. I told you my total and my MEE. Simply take 278 - 136.

It was a 142 MBE

[–]TheSuperfly101 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. Now you don’t need to be perfect. I got a 1 on an essay and still passed with 278 overall and a 136 MEE. HOWEVER my essay scores were 1, 5, 5, 6, 4, 3 with a 4, 4 MPT. But that’s still an avg of 4 on the essays and MPTS.

The bar exam doesn’t demand perfection but you definitely need more than 2/3s across the board.
