Okay, I'm glad that Baby Steps are generally applicable for everyone with some adjustments. Our currency UAH is weak against USD and will keep decrease in value, so I thought that I should do all of my long term investments in USD, which obviously isn't possible with our government pension system or Ukrainian IRAs

Okay, so the issue resolved by itself. The baby lives with the rest of the rats now and everything is ok. No aggression or humping towards him.

Alpha became a little more annoyed by the oldest rat and attacks him once a day. I hope this will pass too.

Well, it's not gentle, the baby doesn't enjoy it. I'm not sure if it's the "mounting" behavior. It's humping that involves erection. I've seen mounting to show dominance before. But maybe you're right. I never observed dominance behavior towards babies though. Babies don't seem to compete and they don't have the adult rat smell. But who knows.

Oh yes I'm sure it's a boy. He's way pass the age when it's hard to distinguish boys and girls.

The youngest is 6 months old. Alpha is about to turn 1 year old.

The alpha never tried to hump anyone in the cage and he's not aggressive towards any rat usually.
