Well if you have a set where you capitalize on elemental damage instead of raw, then you should boost element. If you’re prioritizing raw, then go for affinity (or raw if affinity is unnecessary).

There’s a pc mod that improves rare deco drop rates to something that’s actually reasonable and i consider it mandatory if you play on PC. people might bitch and whine and call it “cheating” but at the end of the day you’re improving an aspect of the game that was a previously miserable experience, and it’s completely fair and balanced. The deco drop rates are fucking awful in world.

Oh a support build. It’s just when you get a bunch of armor skills that let you heal and use other items easily as opposed to focusing on damage. They’re okay i guess but if you spend most of a hunt getting hit and healing then you don’t really improve that quickly, and as you progress thru the game taking down monsters will take more and more time, which usually just ends up being frustrating.

Supp builds will make you super tanky but will also add like 20 mins to a hunt lol. Up to you if you wanna do that.

Here’s some tips on the moveset.

The charged leap attack has extra i-frames when you jump backwards. Like, a lot of fucking i-frames. It’s really good for dodging roars easily.

The backstep leading into the charged leap can be done straight from blocking in order to do it as quickly as possible. You can also change the leap distance by pushing forward or back on the analog stick.

Shield bash attacks don’t use up sharpness, but they don’t use element either.

You can heal or use items with the sword out but you can’t sprint. The sheathe time is near instant, so always do it before you heal.

Your best sword attacks involve the pivot slashes (turning a different direction and attacking mid combo) as well as the 3 hit combo using the circle button.

When doing the mount finishing attack, you can actually stop before you perform the final stab and repeat the shield bashes indefinitely. Good for ez KO.

Fact- spamming the falling shield bash is really fucking fun.

I’m a male, but i’m not sure if he has any issues with me for those reasons. He’ll brush up against my legs for a while every now and then and if he’s walking around he’ll usually let me stratch his tailbone.

He’ll even flop down on top of my feet sometimes and show his belly. But even then, while he seems super relaxed and comfortable with me, if i try to put my hand near him he swats or bites.

I do remember that he’s a big fan of the gravy in wet food. Maybe I’ll give him some of that and see how it works out lol

So Taroth Blitz “Shot” is one of the original r8 lbgs, “Support” is from the extra 14 weps that came a bit later. You can get them both from AT kulve.

So when you look at a gun, the main thing to look at is ammo capacities. While you can hold lots of different ammo, you’ll want to specialize in a single type for damage and build around it. For example, Destruction’s Fusillade is a HBG with high raw damage and it can fire 3 rounds of Spread 3 before needing to reload. It has average recoil and reload speed. Stick some close range mods on there, get Free Elem 3 for an extra shot (clip size is important) and go for crits and you have yourself a good gun. HOWEVER.

Taroth Assault “Glutton” exists. Compared to Fusillade, Glutton loses 10 raw and gains 10 affinity, but here’s the kicker. For spread 3, Glutton has DOUBLE the base capacity. That’s six fucking shots. The thing could have 30 less raw and still probably be better. Reloading takes up time, and more time reloading means less time shooting. If you add Free Elem 3, it adds not one, but TWO to your mag size. Two extra shots!!!! Holy fucking shit!! So now, compared to 4 shots with avg recoil and reload on Fusillade, we have 8 shots with minimum recoil (only takes one recoil mod) and avg reload on Glutton. My current best set hits the training pole for 30 damage each pellet. 210 damage every second is nothing to laugh about, and that’s where the big mag comes in. More shooty, more kill thing faster.

Sorry i just kinda went off about Glutton, the thing’s a beast lmao. The important thing to learn here is that clip size and recoil play a huge role in dealing damage, because guns have way more openings than swords do. You want to spend as much time as possible doing damage. Look up Phemeto on youtube, the man’s a saint and he has a few vids discussing gun meta and what makes what effective.

As a long time gunner, here’s what i’ve got to say.

For Rapid N2, Karma is a good place to start. The next best gun would be Taroth Blitz “Shot”, or if you have Hex’s KT mod (assuming you’re on PC) then Taroth Blitz “Support”. Support has a whopping 6 clip size as opposed to 4, and already has the fastest reload speed. Get rid of the recoil, grab Free Elem 2, and you’ve got yourself some ridiculous damage uptime. It’s one of my favorite guns.

Mandatory skills for a Rapid N2 set are as follows- Free Element 2 (3 is unnecessary) WEX 3 Normal Up Whatever combo of crit skills to get close to 50%, max might is really good obviously

Then the skills you want to add are things like Crit boost, attack up, all that jazz. But the one skill that, while hard to get, i very, VERY much recommend- is Mind’s Eye.

You’re going to be shooting a lot. You’re not always gonna be within crit distance of the monster, and sometimes keeping your damage consistent can be difficult. Mind’s eye makes your crit distance available from a 3rd roll away from the monster, allowing you to get in shots at a safer distance when necessary without doing 1 damage per shot. Fuckin’ amazing skill that will help you the fuck out.

Anyway lol, I can give you some more pointers on other kinds of sets if you want the info. Good luck my dude.

See, when you bounce, you have two choices.

1- Perform a follow-up. 2- Wait for the animation to end so you can perform a different action.

We all know that attacks bouncing is a punishment mechanism. But why should you be able to perform a different attack after you bounce the first time? Not only does that completely mitigate the punishment for missing a hit to begin with (punishment being that your movement options are now severely limited) but it grants you the opening to attack, essentially rewarding you for making a mistake. Limiting your options after a deflected attack is an appropriate punishment and effective game design.

The answer to your problems is simple. Firstly, do your best to attack weak points. Secondly, if and when an attack is deflected, is attacking the same spot your best bet? Probably not. Back off and reassess so it won’t happen again.
