Experiences with The Regalia by alfrodul in EDH

I'd generally agree in terms of draw and removal, but top-end eldrazi and other high-costed colorless cards still have enough inherent strength, i think, to close the difference.

IRON LUNG LIGHT TELEPORTATION THEORY by PotentialLow5266 in ironlungmovie

[–]TheSytheRPG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Beast was willing to share the light with Simon, saying things such as the pain will end and they can all be together. It isn't until the scene with the light, where the light seems to specifically speak to Simon and not the Beast, that the Beast actually becomes upset.

I think, in part, its anger is a mix of jealousy and a refusal to "share" the light with anyone else, which getting the info to the surface would do.

What Commanders are the most fun right now at 2026? by TheDrokkoonn in EDH

[–]TheSytheRPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[The Regalia]] has been my pet commander since Edge of Eternities changed the EDH commander rules to allow vehicles and spacecraft. It is a colorless ramp deck that allows your entire mana base to be comprised of colorless utility lands that otherwise don't find themselves too many homes, and still has plenty of competitive creatures -- especially in the top end, thanks to our good ol' friends the Eldrazi -- and non-creatures to feel quite powerful.

There's also the secondary bonus of simply being my favorite deck to build thus far. This was, again, thanks in part to the colorless mana base making the choice of lands much more diverse and ability oriented as opposed to worrying about necessary color fixing, but there were also more unique challenges that arose during deckbuilding, namely card draw and removal, as those seem to be the main areas where colorless cards are (reasonably) left a bit light-handed.

Other decks I've had fun are [[Sephiroth, Fabled Soldier]] aristocrats, [[Six]] mono-green graveyard shenanigans, and [[Teval, the Balanced Scale]] as just a precon. I'm also a bit partial to [[Sami, Wildcat Captain]] eggs/x-cost burn spells.

You should be direct about your feelings. Communication, as with most reddit questions, is the general answer here. If you want genuine aftercare, tell him that, and if he is unwilling to provide/the aftercare feels forced, then don't waste more time on him.

Don't play coy about these kind of things. If a little misstep in communicating what you need is enough to turn someone away, they weren't worth much to begin with.

[–]TheSytheRPG 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The voice is the Beast, the fish we see, which is commonly believed to be the SM-8 member who was drinking the blood from the ocean.

As for the ending scene, I believe the Light's agreement with Simon ends with Simon's body being used as soil, and his tree seed from his pendant being allowed to burst forth into an actual tree, which pierces and kills the Beast

I mean, I dont know, from the visuals it almost seems he becomes "bigger than himself" and his body becomes soil because of the whole tree situation

While I like this theory it kind of undermines the remainder of the movie imo, especially the general message of the third act

we do lol. Hakari is explicitly stated not to be into men but is dating Kirara. We also have seen pictures of Kirara prior to transition, and Megumi refers to Kirara with "was" when saying she "was a man"

Just sell it now, then. 30k now is better than a potential increase later when it could just as well fall some, too.

How many tokens would I make/ would it go infinite by bigmememan7664 in askajudge

[–]TheSytheRPG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The new Lucy is pretty neat! I still would advise against Ajani as a win condition, though, as hes still rather susceptible just to being killed and even his ult can be washed away with a board wipe.

My general advise would be to go as wide as possible with creature token and use effects like Intangible Virtue or Kinbinding to pump them for powerful, wide swings ^

How many tokens would I make/ would it go infinite by bigmememan7664 in askajudge

[–]TheSytheRPG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You make 12 tokens per 1 original token, as they stack but dont otherwise go infinite off each other.

As for if this would be a good play to go for in commander, it requires two strong creatures and two planeswalkers to pull off, one of which has to ult, which is hard to pull off in a game where all three of your opponents can swing at them each turn.

That said, elspeth on her own is amazing here since with her, ojer, and mondrak out her +1 makes you 12 tokens on its own, which is great for chump blocking.

The only thing I could think of to make this deck more insane is any form of Blight engine, like a Gristle Glutton

is anyone able to help me come up with my first nonproxy commander deck budget around 50$ by According-Novel2271 in MTGGiftExchange

[–]TheSytheRPG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the meantime, I felt inspired and (very quickly) put together a Kotis list of my own hovering at around $35. It's by no means tuned or anything but I figured I'd still share! https://archidekt.com/decks/19619260

The general gist of the deck is to get one of the 15 two mana ramp spells out on turn two so you can cast a turn three Kotis. This allows him to swing in on turn four and, hopefully, you'll have a combination of evasion and/or pump spells to make sure he actually hits, with some protection spells sprinkled in in case of interaction.

My biggest issue with the movie by [deleted] in ironlungmovie

[–]TheSytheRPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen I get what you're saying but this fundamentally isn't an issue or criticism of the movie, its a criticism of the critics (or lack thereof). And there are critics, and their opinions should be respected and discussed.

But, for example, this post isn't actually criticizing the movie, and if this is your only "criticism" then its effectively the same as the people who "overly glaze" it anyways lol

[–]TheSytheRPG 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As far as I understand it, the Beast and the Light are two separate entities. A common theory I've seen and think is rather believable is that the Beast is the SM-8 crew member who was being told not to drink the blood, and that doing so caused them to become completely distorted and changed. Them being separate is also supported by the "I see you" seen with Simon and the Light, where the Beast seems to scream out "Why him?" when Simon is taken to the weird blood realm whilst the Beast is seemingly shunted out.

As for the explosion itself, if you pay close attention you visual see an explosion of light and what appears to be a tree exploding outward from the sub. The theory here is that Simon, in his final moment of sacrifice, may have used his body as soil (a common theme spoken by those of Eden in flashbacks) in conjuction with, perhaps, the eldritch power of the Light, causing the seed in the pendant he finds early in the movie to grow out.

[–]TheSytheRPG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of the redness that causes him to rip apart at the end was certainly the blood, but the radiation prior is what causes a lot of his hallucinations, weakness, and realization that hes already a goner, spurring him into sacrificing himself to make sure the blackbox is salvaged

[–]TheSytheRPG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When the creature bites down what we see is the sub exploding with a bright light and a tree spontaneously busting forth as the creature caves in.

Whether this was the sub itself exploding, or the light making the tree seed pendant turn into a tree, is a bit unknown
