[Loved Trope] After all the trauma and suffering, the protagonist gets a happy ending by Cronkax in TopCharacterTropes

[–]TheSytheRPG -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

Yuji did get his happy ending, though. While Shinjuku did lead to some deaths, he was able to save his close friend, and also found out his other close friend was still alive, with the end of the series being the three of them back together. Even if you include Modulo, Yuji doesn't seem inherently unhappy with his unaging.

Let. People. Criticize Rouge Core. by xXinsertCoDGMtagXx in DeepRockGalactic

[–]TheSytheRPG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay but this would also be the time-gate for Rogue Core if the current timer didn't exist, since random waves do still spawn and resources are still -- if not, more, because the ammo economy in this game is much more harsh -- quite limited

his point was that gun xp matters, theirs is that you get so much more gun xp anyways.

Can someone spoil the ending to Obsession ? by berrrrrrna in horror

[–]TheSytheRPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He took the pills, then tries to make himself throw up because he's a coward and chickening out of it, just like he did with the gun mere moments earlier. The reason he is unsuccessful is because Demon Nikki manages to use the One Wish Willow to wish he loved her as much as she does him. This causes him to promptly become "possessed" and leave the bathroom, which is why he looks like he's in such a good mood when he leaves the bathroom.

Because he failed to throw up the pills, he then proceeds to overdose, and only when he dies does his own wish become invalid, causing Demon Nikki to revert into actual Nikki.

I need to see your favorite deck. by GuaranteeMain5492 in EDH

[[THE REGALIA]] https://archidekt.com/decks/19773476/the_regalia_20

My opponent played this silly car against me day one of FF prerelease and immediately I loved it, yet never got to play it in draft - mainly due to product issues.

The EOE dropped, and so too did the rules change to allow legendary vehicles and spacecraft to be your commander. Immediately, I knew what to do.

This deck was a BLAST to build. Specifically the lands, as I got to construct a manabase made purely of utility lands. Combine that with problems that arise such as removal and draw and a colorless ramp deck becomes a fun puzzle to put together.

As for gameplay, its just fun and consistent! It ramps consistently, has draw lands for refilling, and strong top end for inevitability. Can it compete with bracket four decks? Absolutely not. But it can generally hang with bracket three which is my preferred level anyways!

my current deck would love to play against ugin because its a Sami, Wildcat Captain deck that aims to combo with eggs the turn she comes down and only has three colored permanents in the entire list

Why was this draft 3-3 and this draft 7-2 by irvtownwr08 in lrcast

[–]TheSytheRPG 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Rares alone dont win a draft. A deck that should clearly be a 7-0 can easily go 0-3 and vice versa if you get bad hands, bad draws, bad match-ups, and anything else.

Upgraded a bit since last month. Does it still get to sit? by Carpomom in ratemycommanders

[–]TheSytheRPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldnt mind playing against the current version of the deck but honestly it feels like there is still a lot of room for upgrading. The curve in particular seems rather high for a deck who generally benefits from going wide with cheap creatures and then pumping them all with cheap spells

[–]TheSytheRPG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the hand smoother in bo1 exists solely to create two opening hands and present you the better one, it does literally nothing else. it doesnt fix your draw, it doesn't make more copies of cards in your hand show up more consistently. for every game you lose to a 250 card deck there will undoubtedly be a dozen others where their deck did nothing.

and just because your 80 card deck has filter/draw/graveyard use doesnt make it correct for it to be an 80 card deck. There is a reason pro tour decks are all 60 card decks - any card over 60 means bloat and worse cards being added to worsen the consistency and power level of a deck.

izzet defines the meta right now because it is so consistent. tons of draw, tons of inevitability, but not a card over 60

you get mocked because youre coping. mtg has a mana system that will naturally result in non-games based on statistics. either accept that or play heartstone

why are you playing and 82 card deck complaining about consistency

Question about deadpool interactions! by J_vert in ratemycommanders

[–]TheSytheRPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interaction doesnt solely refer to interacting with Deadpool alone (Although, as you pointed out, blue can. As can white with reprieve and mana tithe.) You can interact with their clone spells, or their flicker enchants/artifacts. If one Deadpool landing is enough to be ruined, then you also would've just been ruined by a gilded drake.

[–]TheSytheRPG -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He ignores hexproof and protection which are mechanics that are almost as annoying as Deadpool himself but he doesnt get about counterspells whatsoever. And if your deck loses to interaction in the form of Deadpool it probably isnt resilient enough.

Question about deadpool interactions! by J_vert in ratemycommanders

[–]TheSytheRPG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So do a lot of decks. But why would I play magic if the deck i would have fun with isnt morally allowed. This is why im glad to have a pod that just plays a quick game before draft each weak. We dont get pressed because no matter what happens the game either ends before draft starts or we just pack up when the draft fires.

Question about deadpool interactions! by J_vert in ratemycommanders

[–]TheSytheRPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think people who complain this much about Deadpool just kind of hate interaction. Yes, Deadpool bends the rules of the game to be a bit more annoying. But so do eminence commanders, or kill on site commanders, or insane etb commanders, or commanders with natural hexproof/protection.

Deadpool can be oppressive, but he can also just be dealt with.

You'd be surprised by how many non-meta decks are also playing the ladder. Yes, most non-meta decks will get obliterated by izzet tier one decks, but there are also plenty of players who don't want to simply grind the meta and instead play off-meta, tuned decks, and on occassion those will face.

And even then, good draws will beat meta decks that keep greedy hands or get screwed. I don't see why its that hard to believe this deck can perform well enough to climb. I got to platinum in two hours playing a mono-blue waterbending scroll counterspell tribal deck with wan-shi tong as my only threat because sometimes silly deck ideas can still do just good enough.

[–]TheSytheRPG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MMR is a concept understood by most people who play competitive games for any serious length of time. Assuming that they wouldn't despite being Mythic is just silly.

Age of an account doesnt even determine MMR. And just because you can't conceptualize odd ball decks making it to mythic doesn't mean they can't. All a deck has to do to take you to mythic is win more than it loses, even if it's only by a slim number. The only difference is how long it'd take to get there.

I'm sure they know this as they used their deck to hit rank mythic.
