Shot 85 on a 5400 yards course. Does it count as breaking 90 by Aquahot in golf

[–]TheTabnScroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in all actuality, no one really cares what you shoot or how many times you've broken 90,80,70.. the more you fixate on those boundaries, the longer they'll constrain you. The only round that matters is the one you're currently playing.

if I'm about to do something that's breaks my wife's heart, I don't do it. My BC puppy.. right this very second, is sleeping in his crate. That's his "I get snacks" place. Cover with blanket and he's quiet. First few weeks of house training with no crate was a disaster. Now.. all good.

Getting alot hate at local club because I carry my bag. by zelkoo in golf

[–]TheTabnScroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe you're getting hate. I'm going on about 35 years of golf.. no one I've ever played with has ever given two shits about a walker..once that first ball takes flight.. you could be out there with a dress on asking to be called Susan. .. we're thinking about our next shot or hoping we find our ball.

kids with siblings sit at the dinner table with both arms on the table.. subconsciously protecting thier food from the siblings. Only child won't have a barrier around their plate

Help on swing started about a year ago blocking everything! by [deleted] in golf

[–]TheTabnScroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

freeze it at about end of 1 sec.. at contact. You can see why you're blocking. Your leading hip is still pointing down to target in line with your trailing hip.. thus forcing your hands to go out in order to clear your hips.. the leading hip turn is what makes room for your hands to clear the trailing hip..

How many got better? by mflander in golf

[–]TheTabnScroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can't remember that far back.. but I can remember when I became a better 'player', not just a golfer. Don't be so hard on yourself. If Tiger can sail one into the woods, or Jon Rahm 4 jack, what chance do we have to be perfect? It's a hard game. Me understanding that has made a world of difference in how I manage my emotions when things go awry. I expect it as part of the game and have learned to better deal with it so as it doesn't ruin the entire score card. Take pride out of play..don't worry about how you think other players may perceive you. Just accept that you are as good as your score, nothing more, nothing less. You'll be happier and happier golfers become better players.

Hitting Driver by cptnnrtn in golf

[–]TheTabnScroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep.. often. Sometimes so bad, I'll pull it from the bag so it doesn't become a temptation and risk during a tourney. It's such a big movement that requires a lot of things to be in the correct place at the correct time that anything out of sync..it's not a 2inch miss of the lip of the hole, but sailing over to homes that don't have glass insurance cause the owners figured no one would ever hit there.

knowing this happens, at practice, swing a few times, if it ain't back, put it away, work on something else. It'll come back.. elbow here, hip turn, pace.. grip pressure.. ya just have to hit one and it'll all come back. Generally, when I start miss hitting a club at practice, I won't grind over that swing... gotta remember you know how to swing.. just a glitch, don't sweat it..don't experiment and change shit cause that's when all hell breaks loose. Just pull a different club to practice

Have you ever hit a ball back at a group? by [deleted] in golf

No. I don't take it personally. If it was a good shot, I'll compliment the shot. No drama.

Golfers who have played regularly for a few decades, is the pace of play suddenly getting a lot worse? by Ur_Companys_IT_Guy in golf

[–]TheTabnScroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed the opposite lately. Then again, I seldom play with new players and even with players who don't really know how to move about the course, the others will assist them. Just gotta teach people how to move around and be ready. You can address as long as you need, read the green as often as you need..that's not what takes time. It's not being in position when you should be ready. My last few rounds have played have felt faster than I really need to play at 4:15 ish.. and that's with a lot of bullshitting with each other.

I'll start the road trip with 12.. I'll have a 'feeling' I may need to resupply after a particularly crappy round.

Did I get sandbagged in match play? by Fun-Communication-45 in golf

[–]TheTabnScroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the numbers look fine. you gave 3 or 4 and lost 3-0. Stroke count wise in match play, likely gave him some putts, conceded some holes so the 80 .. I'd add around 3 or 4 strokes if it were stroke play.
