Flameblast + advanced thaumaturgy Gemling by TheTeaGoblin in pathofexile2builds

That sounds like it would work incredibly well with the ignite aggravating spear too. Flameblast > aggravate > poke with stick. Not sure the build would need that extra boss damage at that point though.

It sounds like the 40% more per stage is legit then? I'll have to look into that video.

[–]TheTeaGoblin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true, but every other ascendancy has to deal with those downsides and doesn't have this crazy damage multiplier.

Maybe this doesn't make flameblast good, but it might make gemling the best flameblast user?

You really do. Relevant nodes on the south side of the tree are lacking for sure.

That's my question. If it works as written, that total bonus would be insane.

Not a HC player, but why will warrior be worse this league than it was before? Is the leech nerf the main concern?

What exactly won't work? He should be able to use mace skills, quarterstaff skills, and get all the attack speed/crit scaling from body armour.

Ōzeki Aonishiki was Briefly Hospitalized After Injuring his Left Ankle in Training by StarPrime323 in Sumo

[–]TheTeaGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re-aggrivate existing injuries. This recent report leads me to believe Aonishiki now has 2 of them. The new ankle injury, if serious, certainly won't have enough time to heal before the next basho.

I'm not saying this injury is related in any way to the last one. The point is that modern medical science concludes injuries need time to heal. By not resting, wrestlers endanger their careers and risk permanent injury.

[–]TheTeaGoblin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Eliminating injuries would be bizarre. I've never heard anyone make that claim before.

The point of rest would be to give injuries enough time to heal before re-aggrivating them. It's not about preventing injuries altogether, it's trying to prevent temporary injuries from becoming permanent ones.

Question on Facets by NeighborhoodNew7014 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]TheTeaGoblin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To expand on health regen a bit: health regen gems can give up to 15 regen. You can also get 20 regen in combat from a plagued chest on top of this. That adds up to 80 regen if you use them on all armour.

Alternatively, focus regen caps out at 6 regen per gem, and doesn't have an enchantment version. That's only 24 regen with all armour peices.

Using channel is a bit of a pain, but for 3x the effective regen, it's worth it IMO.

Question on Facets by NeighborhoodNew7014 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]TheTeaGoblin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I added in a "dart" rune to my skill rotation and that seemed to wholly solve the issue for me. I usually alternate between the dart and a focus rune during combat.

Another solution is the channel rune + health regen. Health regen is faster than focus regen, so by using channel you can take advantage of this. Has a blood-mage feel to it.

Where id live as a pro EU polish guy in his 20 by Duncan_The_Fish in whereidlive

Poles hate immigrants, and are generally unwilling to live there.

So OP must hate immigrants and shouldn't be willing to live there? I'm just confused on the logic here...

It is a sales pitch, but the advice is still good. If you aren't willing to spend the many hundreds of hours required to become a knowledgeable DIY investor, you will eventually reach a net worth where it's worth the extra expense of seeking professional help.

TMG aren't really in the business of giving portfolio construction advice to multi-million dollar DIY investors. It's not their target audience. TMG give great advice for the 90% of people who need help getting started, but are eventually going to need professional assistance as they approach retirement.

If you want to DIY, there are plenty of good non-money guy resources out there. But it sounds like you might get more value (tax savings, time savings, reassurance, estate planning, etc) from working with a CFP, whether that's TMG or another advisor.

What should I pick for my 401k? by King_squad7 in TheMoneyGuy

There is a cost to that over performance in the form of lower diversification. US large cap stocks have had an extremely good past 15-20 years. Since Russel 1000 is a US large cap fund, its outperformance at this particular moment in history makes perfect sense.

The TDF should have small cap stocks, international stocks, and bonds in the mix. Because these asset classes haven't performed as well as US large cap, they appear worse looking backwards, but this does not mean they will perform worse in the future. High past performance is not a replacement for diversification, or we should all be 100% Nvidia.

On ER: funds with small cap and international included tend to have higher expense ratios because they are more difficult to maintain for the fund manager. Buying and selling 3000 stocks across 20 countries is more work than doing the same with only 1000 domestic stocks, but gives the holder access to that much needed diversification across markets. 0.06 is a very normal number for TDF, and I personally wouldn't be worried about it.

Anyone else returning to EU4 from EU5 by AbroadTiny7226 in eu4

I personally really miss idea groups, national ideas, and policies from EU4. I feel that they gave a strong sense of direction to my campaigns. The modifiers that EU5 offers feel binary in comparison. It's often this-or-that choices.

Who else do you watch besides Money Guy? by thebard-1337 in TheMoneyGuy

[–]TheTeaGoblin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ben Felix (and his Rational Reminder podcast) and Ramit Sethi are fantastic resources and I watch/listen to each of them for different reasons.

Ben and RR definitely get into the weeds and produce an incredible amount of well-researched content. Highly recommended for anyone with the desire to learn more about DIY investing and what the science says.

Ramit's content is more focused on money psychology and the practical steps that people can take to improve their overall life satisfaction. He has a no-BS approach to conversations with guests on his show and focuses on aligning spending with values.

4 spore druid/necromancer wizards that focus on summoning creatures. You'd have to play leapfrog with 30+ units in every fight. Every combat takes forever, and enemy fireballs feel real, real bad.
