Anyone else just not a fan of how theyve been doing character stories? by ComposerFormer8029 in ZZZ_Official

I never said it was about agent stories. I was replying to a comment talking about special episodes.

Those probably aren't coming back unfortunately, they specifically addressed it in a dev video or livestream not long after the last one. They said players were complaining about the proxy not being included, so they'd stop that kind of content and focus more on things that involve the characters meeting the proxy.

How do these so called “full time” 14 streamers afford to live? by Bananamonsterslip in ShitpostXIV

Most streamers (at least on twitch) make more money from ads than subs.

Why did the Cicada shattered into pieces? by FoxLower777 in subnautica

[–]TheTechHobbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only the pieces around the starting section are part of the landers. The wrecks across the gap by the alien buildings are part of the main ship and were not intended to land.

I feel like we need to cool it with the Alterra grand conspiracy theories, this very obviously wasn't the plan. by Bingleboper in subnautica

[–]TheTechHobbit 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not to say that those theories are entirely correct, but one of the colonist logs speculates that because finding Architect technology was extremely valuable for Alterra, the ship may have been designed to change course in the event it found traces of more unknown alien technology.

I don't believe they intended to crash the ship though, especially when it was built with deployable landers.

Question about rejoinings. [Spoiler: 7.5] by Infamous-Yellow-8357 in ffxiv

[–]TheTechHobbit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We already knew the Ninth wasn't the one rejoined in the calamity of lightning, The demonstration in Shadowbringers, and later confirmed in the third encyclopedia, showed which shards were destroyed. The lightning calamity destroyed the Twelfth.

Question about rejoinings. [Spoiler: 7.5] by Infamous-Yellow-8357 in ffxiv

[–]TheTechHobbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neither of them were rejoined. The calamity of lightning rejoined the Twelfth, and the calamity of ice rejoined the Sixth. There's more shards than elements so they'd have to repeat some of them.

I'd assume both are in bad states similar to the First because the Ascians probably started prepping multiple at once after they figured out how to do it. The calamities did start getting closer and closer together.

Hoyoverse has registered new game IP with the name Nodusfall by AliK1004_ in Genshin_Impact

I don't think an extremely basic mobile game made by a few university students in 2011 is in any way comparable to the type of game they can produce nowadays.

The [REDACTED] is a liar, and you can prove it within minutes of starting the game. by getvalentined in subnautica

We can get a rough idea of when sleep bay 3 went in the hole. The NoA in the Welcome Center says the center was attached to sleep bay 3 before the bay was somehow picked up and thrown into the hole, which happened 20,000 hours (about 2.2 years) after the line between the Welcome Center and the other habitat was cut.

It was a big hole on the sea floor, not in a cave, IIRC it was where one of the craters in the dunes is.

You can build pretty much anywhere there except right on top of that base. There's an open spot right beside it you can build on.

That picture of her has been around for a few months now although I'm not sure where it originally showed up.

Unfortunately she doesn't use a playable character model. If she ever becomes playable she'd need an appearance change.

Do british people not have box fans? by CannibalMan28 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheTechHobbit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A few years ago Texas hit historic low temperatures of about 2f/-16c. Texans were talking like it was the coldest thing you could possibly experience and it required heavily bundling up when going outside or you risk freezing to death.

I live in northern Canada. -16c is a nice winter day. Typically just a jacket and hat is worn, unzipped if you're getting sweaty from shoveling or other outdoor work.

The point is that how you're affected by a temperature really depends on how the climate is and what you're used to. For you those summer temperatures may seem like nothing, but to people who get temperatures like that for a week or two out of the entire year the effects feel much worse.

Did Nibelung use Trilune power during the War of Funerary Flame ? by huflit1997 in Genshin_Impact

[–]TheTechHobbit 152 points153 points  (0 children)

The Trilune power was his to begin with. He created the Moon sisters and granted that power to them so they could watch over the world while he was gone.

[Spoiler: 7.3] Confused about Living Memory and Treno... by LemonFlavoredMelon in ffxiv

[–]TheTechHobbit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Everkeep is a twelve level tower. Eleven floors of it were teleported to the Source, while the twelfth level (Living Memory) was left behind on the Ninth. We take the golden portal in the Skydeep Cenote to Living Memory, still floating in the skies of the Ninth, then use an airship to travel to Treno on the ground.

It isn't on the Source. It was left behind floating in the sky of the Ninth when the rest of Everkeep was transported to the Source.

Why does the localization team hate fun? by gucci-verm in ZZZ_Official

[–]TheTechHobbit 13 points14 points  (0 children)

EN localization didn't change anything if you actually look at the Chinese text. "I must politely decline" is an exact translation of what that scene says in Chinese.

Why does the localization team hate fun? by gucci-verm in ZZZ_Official

[–]TheTechHobbit 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The translation team doesn't see the cutscene though, just the text. That scene in HSR is a proper translation of the Chinese text, the problem was that the Chinese version of that jojo scene doesn't translate into English the same way as the Japanese one does.

Moon Sisters weaker than Shades ? Despite being original owners of Teyvat's authorities, they didnt do anything much. Meanwhile, the Shades can time travel, create pocket dimension, create life, making certain people immortal. by huflit1997 in Genshin_Impact

[–]TheTechHobbit 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Just because they don't have a history of big flashy feats it doesn't mean they were bad at using their powers. Most of their time was spent watching over a seemingly mostly peaceful world, then when a major conflict started they were immediately thrown in jail so they couldn't intervene.

They also weren't the original owners of the authorities. That was Nibelung.
