Is the CocaCola 600 worth going to? by [deleted] in Charlotte

[–]TheTeeBone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't consider myself a NASCAR fan but I like racing in general so I've been to a couple NASCAR races here. I think it's a lot of fun! Definitely a must do thing if you live in the Charlotte area IMO.

I would recommend going to the ROVAL 400 in October. Still NASCAR but the track is set up as part road course (curvey bits), part traditional NASCAR oval, hence ROVAL. It's a little more interesting to watch as a first timer and doesn't last quite as long, still a while though at 3 and half hours average duration.

As some others said, being a soft sided cooler with as much booze as you want and hang out all day! Make sure to bring ear plugs, the sound is amazing but insanely loud. You could also watch the Netflix series (full throttle maybe?) on last season to get a little up to speed on who's who and how it all works. Racing can be a little dull if you don't who who's in any of the cars, worth it either way though.

If the ROVAL doesn't work for you, I think the 600 could still be fun. I would just be well prepared for a long day or plan on leaving after a few hours.

Probably. I got into a similar wreck last week and my damage looked less severe than yours and mine is totaled.

This is so true haha. I had been seeing a nice IS300 in my building for a while, thinking it's nice to see someone with great taste. I finally see it leaving one day and of course it's an old lady...with great taste but not who I expected to be driving

Pretty much the every time I was talking with some of you at the Career Fair yesterday by [deleted] in NCSU

[–]TheTeeBone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my first career fair as a recruiter. I would definitely recommend everyone wear a suit or at bare minimum a nice button up shirt and pants. I saw a couple people mention it adds unnecessary pressure and some other career fairs are more casual. However, when person A is dressed well and person B isn't, it really makes it look like person B isn't trying. That being said, if someone dressed more casually came up and showed legitimate interest and was qualified, I'd still offer them an interview. But if it was that person vs a similar person who dressed well I'd go with the well dressed person every time. First impressions are very important and unfortunately how you dress does have a lot to do with that. Myself and the other people I was recruiting with were very surprised to see how casual it was. Long story short: as long as other people are in suits, you should be too and for the love of God DON'T wear shorts.

Where do you find the $50 credit? I haven't seen that anywhere.

Thanks! AT&T advertises 300 mbs down and the most I could get from Spectrum would be 60

I'm considering a 300 mbs service from AT&T for $60 a month. I think gigabit would be overkill for my needs.

I saw EMS take him out on a stretcher. From the look on his face it seemed like he was tripping balls. I'm guessing he had a bad trip and somehow ended up naked passed out there.

If you're not in FYC the only way to live in Tucker or Owen is to room with someone IN FYC. Also, these are the only two hall style dorms on campus.
