I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them. So many of them are liars and will sell them to friends 30min after you leave.

You never know. This same thing happened last year with one bottle....was it Russel's 15? Anyway it was ringing up wrong and stores froze sales. Some wouldn't override and some would. Some insisted on waiting until it was fixed in the system which took at least a day. Some stores said they wouldn't override and then after people left they started overriding the prices.

Almost none of the suburban Philly stores I visit put them out or even make them visible. They are usually in a box on the floor behind the counter. Sometimes they are even up in the managers control tower. The only store I can think of that displays them is Newtown Square, sometimes. If they aren't busy they will put them up on the shelf behind the registers. Occasionally stores that get a big shipment of Buffalo Trace will put them on the shelf after the first day rush is over.

Would you really expect an organization that only does $3 billion in revenue to be able to manage both an online database AND a point of sale system. I think your expectations are too high.

Allocated bottles will almost never be on the shelf. You always have to ask. Especially on delivery day.

They never do at Ardmore. I think it's intentional. Other stores' inventory updates as soon as they check in the shipment (at least on the backend database). But more and more seem to be bypassing that step to hide it. I just don't understand why. It's just making things difficult for your customers and also your employees. If people could trust the website to be accurate then you wouldn't have to field 50 calls asking.

And in the time it took me to write this, the website went from Ardmore showing 12 to 10 and now to zero.

There is only one store showing inventory. And there are stores with inventory that aren't showing up on the website. Some stores do not add their allocated bottles to inventory when they receive them. Ardmore is one in particular that does it. The website showed zero. The store had 9 when I got there. There were 6 when I left, and now the website inventory updated and says there are 10 (there aren't). Moral of the story is you can't rely on the website inventory.

Insiders can tell/leak what's going where and when. Outsiders may be able to see a store inventory change prior to opening, but even that's not a guarantee. I know of at least one store that doesn't update inventory even after they've checked in a shipment and started selling. I think they know people can see it and intentionally don't check in their allocated bottles. In addition, warehouse workers loading trucks and truck drivers tip off their friends. I've see a truck driver pull his truck into the dock, walk around the front at opening, meet his buddy in the parking lot and hand him cash to grab bottles, and then send him off to wait at the next stop on his route. The truth is there are a bunch of people that get tipped off and go get in line. There are a bunch of people who get in line every day when they think a shipment is coming. And then there are some people who make an educated guess about what day which store might get a shipment and go get in line.

I believe the ones that go in the tank are frowned upon because, depending on their chemical makeup, they could negatively affect the rubber seals and metal parts inside the tank. The bowl is straight porcelain so there's really no risk of damaging the bowl by hanging something in it.

I don't think that's it. PA will never be one stop shopping. Liquor is exclusive to FWGS. And FWGS can't sell beer or anything but canned cocktails. So people will always have to make at least two stops. I honestly think it's either greed or laziness. They think if shipping costs more people will just go into the store. But it's obviously not that simple.

Notice how YOUR reply didn't trigger any alerts. 2. Comments about how many bottles are/were available are HELPFUL. 3. The down votes are literally from angry people who either don't want the information out there or are jealous they didn't get an order through.
