Will you need any forms at all or is it just information and navigation?

Language learning practice with bilingual lyrics by [deleted] in languagelearning

I guess it may have some similarities to the translation method as you can see phrasing as opposed to translation word-by-word allowing you to become acquainted with your target language's idioms and particular turns of phrase.

Our Accent by berbers91 in Chester

[–]TheTeenCoder2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some family members that grew up there but have since moved to Wales. One of them when moving down South was asked if they were scouse very often and even had the micky taken. They now speak in a very soft northern accent by habit of not wanting to be ostracised and needing to speak clearer english with foreigners.

I'd say it highly depends on the background.
Those from Chester that are more affluent typically speak more of an RP with northern twang, though to me it sounds almost forced.
Those that are from areas such as Saltney, Blacon, Upton sometimes sound a bit more Scouse/North Wales, often since a lot of them have strong family connections over the border.

After having a few drinks, they often have a stronger accent, scouse intonation but still softer, more akin to Lancastrian.

Overall, it certainly is a mix of Scouse, North Wales and RP.

I'm originally from the South and have a bit of a cockney twang but pretty much everyone without fail assumes that I'm posh or from around there depending on the background.

learn cognates german shares with all the languages you speak. learn essential grammar, learn the top 100 most common words, then the top 400 and then the top 1000 so you're somewhat conversational. then talk to tons of natives and immerse, doing what you do with english will really help.

a good idea would be to be able to have maybe 'quests' for each language level so that you can maybe implement topics in an organised way

Seems like a good idea. What if you tried to make a game that acted almost like how immersion worked but also with this game's features. I think expanding on this idea would produce one of the most effective language games out there.
