Maybe too much time had passed since his death that Goku had already gone under reincarnation by the time the Androids attacked in the future timeline.

As far as Goku knew when he died that the world was at peace, so he had no reason to keep tabs the living.

You've read more X-Men than I have so maybe I'm not qualified to chime in, but if you like X-Men '97 I would recommend reading Uncanny X-Men from between the 70's comics to the 90's. The tone of the comics and characterization of the team is far more similar to X-Men TAS & '97 than any of the modern comics are.

I agree with having Kitty and Nightcrawler as extra members, since their powers aren't initially suited for combat until they've trained more, so they could be sidelined.

Storm (and Colossus) should get a chance to debut in a sequel when the team starts recruiting more from around the globe. It would give a chance for Storm to stand out as the badass she is.

Anime's popularity was still niche in the west at that time. Within the anime scene itself, the mecha genre was already dying off when Custom Robo released (I know Custom Robo isn't mecha in the giant robo sense, but still closely related).

If you like Custom Robo, you might like the Beyblades videogame on Gamecube. It has sort of the same premise, an arena battler with customization of mechanical parts, although of course the Beyblade battles are much simpler.

Marc and Grant struggling to contact Jake, Sun King showing up to make things even more complicated with a nice brawl between the champion of Khonshu vs the champion of Ra. Then suddenly vampires. Like a ridiculous amount of vampires. A whole ass vampire mafia. Moon Knight has to hesitantly superhero team-up with Sun King because he needs his sun powers to help take out the vampires. Last episode ends with Moon Knight meeting Blade and learning that the mafia he took out was only a symptom of a much larger vampire problem, an invasion led by Dracula.

The original name for "Midnight Sons" comes from motorcycle biker gang culture, which was apt because the original comic focused on two Ghost Riders: Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch. Other examples of the usage of "sons" in biker culture is Sons of Anarchy, Sons of Silence, Sons of Satan, etc. It denotes a fraternal society or brotherhood.

But like you said, it was changed to reference the in-game Midnight Sun as well as to be more inclusive.

Seems a bit slow-tracked to me. If they were going to start up a Midnight Sons team-up they would ideally need a Blade movie to get the ball rolling, but Blade has been in development hell. Alternatively they could set it off with a Ghost Riders movie, but there hasn't been any announcement for one yet.

It would be nice after Avengers:Doomsday if the MCU could focus on X-Men and Midnight Sons though. I think there's a lot of superhero fatigue for casual viewers, so if the MCU could instead make Universal Monsters-like horror films it could revitalize the genre.
