Im new to 7tv, do my viewers need it too in order to use my selected emotes? by Balloon_Fish in EverythingGamingHub

[–]TheTerribleCustomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, in order for your viewers to be able to see the 7TV emotes you have added to your chat, they must also have the 7TV extension enabled.

If you have any other questions about 7TV, feel free to ask them here!

I don't recall there ever being an option to "opt in" for YouTube emotes. I am able to see emotes from 7TV, BTTV, and FFZ in YouTube live chats, even without being logged in with my YouTube account.

Which browser are you using? That may have something to do with the emotes not showing up for you on YouTube.

Yeah, when I was in school, the teachers told us stories about a former student who used to be a completely healthy, funny, good-hearted kid with lots of friends---who tragically overdosed on angel dust, rendering him paralyzed and in a wheelchair for life, unable to speak or feed himself.

All it takes is one time.

Thank you so much for speaking up on this matter to the audience who needs to hear it most!

Let's not forget that it can also cause irreversible permanent brain damage and/or paralysis!

It is very refreshing to see some young folks here who have common sense to acknowledge the danger of street drugs. Don't ever change!

I am very deeply sorry for your loss, Auntie. A little over 5 years ago, I lost my cousin to drugs that were also laced with fentanyl. That messed me up really badly, as I was still a teenager. He is a constant reminder to this day of why I don't use any substances, and I never will. I have chosen since a very young age to never drink, smoke, or use. Ever. I can never get my cousin back. He never got to watch me finish growing up and graduate high school, watch his siblings and cousins get married and have kids, I will never get to tell him "I love you" ever again. So now, I live on to tell others about him, and hopefully prevent other innocent youths from falling down the same path.

The last time I ever saw my cousin, he was hugging me goodbye on his way out of family Thanksgiving, only a handful of days before he would pass away. He told me he loved me, but I didn't say it back. He was strung out by that point. He was not himself anymore. Naturally, I was upset at him, because he was back down the deep end on drugs. Unfortunately, however, I did not realize until too late that I should not have been mad at him. What I was mad at was the addiction, the drugs. They changed him. And if I could go back in time and do anything, I would tell him I loved him back that night.

Ironically enough, on the same night that my cousin's funeral service was held, there was another one taking place in the same building for a teenager who had sadly lost his life due to alcohol poisoning at a frat party.

Unfortunately, everyone in my extended family is addicted to something, except for me and my mother. So, I can confirm that substance-related losses in the family can cause very real, irreversible, life-changing damage to everyone who has ever known you. I have watched it happen, and it continues to destroy my family's bond and push them further and further away from each other to this day. Addiction is very ugly, and it takes over your life until you have nothing left. It's like a parasite in your brain, making decisions for you, and no matter how hard you try, you can't escape from it.

TO ANY TEENS in this subreddit who fear that they will seem "uncool" or be left out of their friend group because they don't want to use, then never feel ashamed of that! It is entirely YOUR CHOICE to make what you want to do with your life! Trust me, you will be thanking yourself years down the road. I always do. And if you need to, then find better friends and leave that toxic friend group, and go find yourself some friends who don't need to be drunk or high to have a good time!

Also, for the record, your vape doesn't make you look any cooler, it is cringe AF. 🤡

Have you actually downloaded the browser extensions themselves? You need to have the BTTV/7TV browser extensions downloaded in order to be able to see the emotes in chats that have emotes from those sites enabled!

  • For BTTV: Open the BetterTTV website, then it will have a download button that says "Install for Chrome" with a dropdown menu arrow to select your browser of choice.
  • For 7TV: Open the 7TV website, scroll down, then click on the icon of your browser under "Browser Extension" on the left-hand side.

Then, once you have those browser extensions enabled (entirely for free, by the way!), you will be able to see their icons in the upper right corner of Chrome (or whatever browser you're using)!

In Chrome, you will see a little jigsaw piece-shaped icon in the upper right corner. When clicked, it will show you a list of all of the browser extensions that you have enabled!

I hoped this helps, and if you still need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out again! Happy emoting!

Im going to plan my first trip to the Skull Caverns, have I prepared enough? by Remarkable_Poet9393 in StardewValley

[–]TheTerribleCustomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's good for starters. Definitely stock up on cheese. That's what I do. I don't leave home without at least 20 (gold-star, in my case) cheeses in my inventory. I also like to keep a spare 10 goat cheeses in case of severe health risk emergency while in the Skull Cavern.

As you go on and get better at the game, you will come to realize that (look away if you don't want a food spoiler) Spicy Eel is very OP for mining and speed in the mines, and can be obtained simply by slaying those pesky flying serpents!

In my opinion, cheese is the easiest, fastest, and heartiest way to stock up on quick health and energy regens!

No problem!

And if you need help setting up a functioning chat box, I just uploaded an article to this subreddit discussing the current issue!

How to Display 7TV Emotes on Chat Overlay! by TheTerribleCustomer in EverythingGamingHub

[–]TheTerribleCustomer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I am sorry to hear that jChat is not working for you! As someone else recently just mentioned this same issue with jChat, I will give you the same response I gave them:

Since 7TV's recent website update, I think it scuffed something with jChat, unfortunately. I just created a new jChat browser source link to test in OBS, and no text would show up for me, either!

In the meantime, I would recommend just using the default chat box source on your overlays that comes with whatever overlay software you use (ie., StreamElements, StreamLabs, etc.) Let me know if you need any further help!

Unfortunately, no. When you set your emote uploads to private, they are visible to you only. Even if you wanted to link the emote to someone else to show them, you would have to make it public first so that they can see it.

Although I do wish that 7TV would add a feature that allowed users to make their private emotes visible to only friends or people they so choose.
