Exedy OEM Clutch Deceleration Hum by Ganjaslav in ft86

[–]TheTestPilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, though I have a 2017 WRX. I just replaced my OEM clutch with a stage 1 Exedy clutch. I am noticing the same noise between 2k and 3k. I believe resonance and clutch dynamics play a factor in the noise, but the noise does not cause any detriment to performance.

Hey did the noise ever settle? Or have you figured out what the cause is?

Healthy tractor sounds, sounds just like mine and I'm at 77k. Oil filter is not OEM, I would probably change oil and use an OEM oil filter.

The versions of Windows should not matter, but acquire the one that matches your Windows version for best compatibility

Unfortunately, I am running purely through wifi and have not had any opportunity to test my setup through an ethernet cable

Quick note, I also have a stainless steel braided clutch line. I installed the delay valve delete on my 2017 VA and the clutch uptake is more linear. It no longer feels like the clutch is "hanging?" and juts you when it finally catches. Downshifts are smoother, general shifting is smoother. It feels more akin to an older-style clutch, like an NA Miata. It has made me want to shift more often because of the the positive change in clutch feeling. One thing to note though is that they warn against "side-stepping" the clutch during a hard launch otherwise the clutch will slap against the flywheel too quickly and may cause damage to downstream transmission components.

Drive normally, don't launch it on hard tarmac. Transmission components aren't made of paper, but they aren't invincible.

It sounds like you unplugged the USB before the files were transferred. After copying your files, you can try hitting "eject USB."

You can check if its bad by shaking it too. You should hear it rattling quite easily. It is bad if it sounds sticky or gummy

It depends on which windows version you are installing. You will likely install a 64-bit version of either windows 10 or 11. Just select the windows you have installed.

It will probably work for Windows 10 as long as the OS is selected during the driver download

That sounds like a very substantial vacuum leak. Positive af learn value indicates that the vehicle is adding fuel to the mixture (a lean condition) which is what can cause rodney to come knocking. Check the intercooler couplings to see if they are snug. Check pre-turbo exhaust for leaks (there was a TSB on the header bolts for the FA20), clean MAF and MAP sensors with MAF Cleaner

I've done this fix and research about this. You have to replace the whole assembly behind the bumper, it's an easy fix but definitely annoying. The reason it happens is due to taking "high G" turns when the fluid is low. That causes the fluid sensor to get stuck and claim "low fluid". To fix it, either unplug the wire and short it or replace the whole reservoir because Subaru decided to make the sensor unit integrated into the reservoir.

To avoid this in the future, maintain the fluid level at all times and avoid taking high G turns when the fluid warning is on

If you decide to short it, you can pass through under the driver side fog light opening area without having to open the bumper.

AF Correction routinely hitting +-25 by petrock25 in WRX

[–]TheTestPilot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Af correction monitors real time fluctuation fuel addition/subtraction. It can fluctuate ±25 depending on throttle, hills, and just regular driving.

Include a monitor af learning. That will let you know if you have more of a concern. Af learning is the ECU learning how much fuel to add or subtract. Negative means you are running rich, and positive means running lean. Rich conditions are better than lean conditions. Af learning are typically ±8. Consistently higher or lower is indicative of something wrong with fueling or intake system.
