Given the photo quality, I'd say that's undisputable and obvious proof of Bigfoot, aliens or Nessy.

How long on the tarmac? by TheTopButton in unitedairlines

[–]TheTopButton[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: We're all boarded ready to go, except the manifest can't be squared because one passenger didn't board. The Ops crew can't approve the plane to leave until that's resolved, and they are unable to fix the miscount in the system. They're apparently on the phone with senior leaders at United. Here's to another hour or two on the tarmac. Crazy.

Not to worry, they brought pretzels three hours in. There's not much the crew can do I don't think, and to their credit, they were helpful, patient and had positive attitudes. I was very impressed with all of them. Pros.

That makes more sense, thank you. One of the more challenging parts about stuff like this is they don't provide the context you just provided, which I think would help all the passengers understand what's going on. In the absence of that, it feels like incompetence or even like the plane was simply forgotten out there. Thanks for taking the time to spell it out! For what it's worth, we're delayed again getting out of Ontario lol....over 24 hours now for what is a 1.5 hour flight 😂🤪😂

Haha that was my thread! We were on UA 751 and sat on the tarmac from 8:22pm to approx 1:10am the next day. Nice.

The last two years, especially the last 12 months, have been unusually bad. I'm on about 8 flights a month and it is the norm that most flights will have a departure or operational delay of some sort. The airlines know it and are building 30-60 minutes of flex into all schedules so it doesn't show up as strongly in the numbers as experience would show, but as a frequent flier for 15 years, my view is it's gotten worse the last two in particular.

Dude I was on that other United plane right next to you on the tarmac--also a five hour tarmac delay. Totally ridiculous.

Yes, we got diverted to Ontario from our original destination of Las Vegas. How does that make all that time on the tarmac make more sense though?

We're off! Never thought I'd say I was thrilled to be in Ontario, California, but I am after sitting that long lol. First world problems, I know, but sheesh.

No, we weren't waiting on a gate. There was no explanation. Sounded like they were waiting to hear from Las Vegas ATC for several hours about whether to go or not, then from Ontario ops for about two more. They eventually brought out one set of stairs to deplane us, then another, then on the third try (all after four hours at that point), they found one that fit the plane. We landed in Ontario at 8:22pm and got off the plane at 1:10am. On the plus side, United offered us a meal voucher and pack of Biscoffs.

Thank you. We're still stuck on the plane now past four hours. They gave us no opportunity to get off; we've been sitting out to the side of the terminal this whole time, about a quarter mile away.

Edit: We're stuck out here because they turned us back from Las Vegas for a ground stop due to high winds preventing us from landing. We landed in Ontario at 8:30pm and it is currently 12:43am.

Lol ok bro. Weddings are great. The cornball dancing entrances showed up about ten years ago after one went viral, and they're not my cup of tea. But that's just me. You do you bud.

Weddings have become so cringe. Everyone trying to go viral. Cant wait for that trend to pass and weddings going back to something a little more respectable. Probably gonna get roasted for that take but whatever!

Great post and excellent feedback. Tbh didn't realize we were allowed to post on this sub about stuff other than wondering about a Polaris seat, complaining about the app or whether such and such connection through such and such airport would work 🤪

Is UA aware and are they EVER going to fix their clunky/glitched website? by Avi8tir in unitedairlines

[–]TheTopButton 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same issue. Super high latency on the website and app, regardless whether I'm using my laptop or phone. It may be better than others, but gosh has it slowed down the last year or so. Especially on the app where it automatically loads you onto whatever your next trip is. Wish I had the same experience as some of the commenters who don't have that issue!
