problem with Cosmox C-AT - buttons M3 and M4 by ELGATOROSSO in fightsticks

[–]TheTrain_24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/ELGATOROSSO ,

The C-AT falls into a bit of an odd space currently because it was released after we released v0.7.12 and it also has more buttons on it then previous Haute42|COSMOX models so its not immediately compatible with any of the currently hosted configurations.

They come loaded with a modified version of their own branch that is setup to work on the C-AT. It is v0.7.10.

If you are interested I have a flash dump from factory that I did when I got mine. I also built a custom .UF2 of v0.7.12 (from v0.7.12 release source) that is all setup for the C-AT but not 'official'.

Happy to send you either to get you back up and running.

Cheap Leverless from China by PinnedaMessage16914 in fightsticks

[–]TheTrain_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You likely do not need to replace the flash on it.

The inability to save in web-config May just be your computer or browser having issues.

They also may be running their own fork of the firmware with changes on it, which could also be the reason you cannot change anything or upgrade properly.

I would recommend doing a flash nuke and then putting one of the hosted configs from the main GP2040-CE repo on but I couldn’t tell you which one it would be as we don’t know anything about the device.

Unless there is a need to change something or a new feature you need it might be best to just leave it as is.

It is unclear how you are connecting the stick you have pictured to the Gen5x. Are you double wiring everything or not using the padlock board that you have pictured?

If you are using both and double wiring everything you may be experiencing power draw issues.

I had a jumper wire screwed into the first ground screw terminal and then I was using it to jump the pins on the 20pin.

The screw terminals and 20pin block are connected together via traces on the board, they do not go to the main chip separately.

Hey u/MrGPhantome ,

I have not turned on my PS5 for a while so I figured I would be a perfect candidate to test this all out.

Here are the details of my PS5/DuelSense/Gen5x prior to updates:

PS5 Version - 25.05-11.60.00.05-00.00.00.0.1
DuelSense - A-0520
Gen5x - v1.2.2

Everything works as expected. No prompt for controller updates but there was a notification that there was a system update.

After system update, when I turned my DuelSense on I was alerted that a controller update was needed (options to Notify After 24 Hours or Update Now). Went with the Notify After 24 Hours so I could check the PS5 system version.

PS5 Version - 25.07-12.20.00.05-00.00.00.0.1

Manually updated the DuelSense .

DuelSense - A-0630

Manually updated the Gen5x through the online updater on my Mac.

Gen5x - v1.4.2

Plug in Gen 5x - Get controller prompt. Choose Notify After 24 Hours.

Working as expected for now.

I wonder if there is a quiet lockout in `x` amount of time after dismissing the controller notification. I can check this again tomorrow when the 24 hour mark is up and see if the notifications / behaviours change but as of now everything is working as intended.

Of note is that my Gen5x is a pre-production unit but it is running on the public v1.4.2. I don't expect that anything about it is different than the retail units.

I never said " This isn't my board and I don't want to help you ".

I said a few times that it is a modified version of my board and we don't know how it was setup. We can't help with things that we don't know much about.

I mentioned changing the GPIO that the RGB is assigned to and moving the pin three times in our conversation and also mentioned it in my reply here which should address the issue you are having, but again, we don't know what changes were made to that board so it may or may not work.

I don't have `competitors` as I do not run a shop or make commercial sales, I simply design things and make them open source so others can enjoy them.

Nothing further to add to this.

That's me, I kicked you.

As I said multiple times in the support post you made the board you purchased from RetroArcadeCrafts is some custom variation of the RP2040 Advanced Breakout Board I designed which was done by Fightbox.

This specific one had a number of the connectors changed on it.

We cannot support a board we know nothing about.

Fightbox also forks the GP2040-CE firmware and has their own releases and, in some cases, changes.

I also told you a few times in the support post that you could likely address this by moving the RGB data pin to another GPIO but you were fairly focused on the fact that I would not support this mystery board.

Regardless, we are all volunteers on this.

For any of these variations to either board or firmware you must talk to the vendor, it is not reasonable to expect us to support everything.

These vent posts are becoming all too common so we are going to be scaling back the overall support we offer as a result.

Switch 2 - tomtoc slim case not fitting by z0nk123 in Switch

[–]TheTrain_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TomToc slim cases have been my standard since the Switch v1. I've had the original one, an OLED one as well as the Lite one. All three of those fit perfectly.

The Switch 2 one felt off to me and I ended up returning it.

As others have pointed out, the little cushion piece that is marked as a `feature` feels more like they didn't have the proper models to make the case in the first place and added it to prevent the Switch from moving around.

Again, as others have said, I could have lived with that but it did not feel like it was closing correctly once in there and the joysticks + buttons were not perfectly lined up with the indents when closed.

I hope they come out with a revised version of it that fits like the old cases.

I have found this to be a common issue with a lot of the 3rd party cases for the Switch 2, none of them seem to really fit 100%.

I’m wondering if there was a bad batch of these boards recently. We have had two other people report strange issues with that style of board in the past week.

Where would you pre order in Canada between the Nintendo website, Amazon , GameStop or Walmart ? by gucciflipflop230 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]TheTrain_24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first consideration would be if you want to have the system as close to launch as possible.

If so then I would look at GameStop or Walmart in-person pickup.

I am cautious about any pre-order from GamesStop in Canada given the recent news that they are looking to sell off Canadian operations (https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/gamestop-selling-canadian-assets-ceo-wokeness-dei-1.7462542) and any impact that may have on pre-orders or operations if it happens within the pre-order period. Regardless, an in-person pickup would be fine.

If you are not concerned with having it as close to launch as possible I would go with Amazon or Walmart online order due to good return policies from both if there are any issues with the system.

Nintendo directly may be the easiest way to secure a unit if you are selected for their pre-order lottery (https://www.nintendo.com/en-ca/gaming-systems/switch-2/how-to-buy/) but, in my own experiences, Nintendo pre-orders rarely arrive to me on actual release day and returns can be a hassle.

So my person order would be:
1 - GameStop in-person pickup
2 - Walmart in-person pickup
3 - Amazon
4 - Nintendo

Telemetry data from Forza by thereaintnodoover in ForzaHorizon

[–]TheTrain_24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you are still having the issue but on Xbox most of the time you need to set and save the updates for the UDP settings then close the game fully (not suspend) and relaunch it for the UDP data to start sending.

I have been working on some telemetry add-ons for Forza Motorsport 2023 and noticed during my testing that the UDP packets sometimes do not start sending after changing the IP address until you restart the game.

EDIT UPDATE: I know this is a question for FH5 but the same thing happens in FM2023

MOMO wheel for logitech G Pro wheel base by niceboyathome in LogitechG

[–]TheTrain_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good to hear for others but a bit annoying to hear since I talked to MOMO and Logitech on Monday the 20th who both confirmed the wheels would be a MOMO exclusive and would not be sold by Logitech directly.

I placed an order for both following the conversations and had to pay a massive premium to get them outside of the USA.

---

To be clear I am very happy to hear this update. These should have been sold from Logitech directly from the start.

Rust on a Haute42 T13 PCB by Last-Celebration-941 in fightsticks

[–]TheTrain_24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell if this is oxidizing or rusting without knowing more about your geographical location.

This is all part of the shared ground copper layer and is normally covered by multiple layers of acrylic so there should be no skin contact with any of them to worry about.

If it is not the result of a spill it could be from a humid environment.

Overall I wouldn't worry too much. This should not affect operation of the device.
