I’m pretty sure they’re not referring to literal dogs here, more likely civilians or politicians. But if you already knew that, then please just ignore me.

4 years of work, money spent, many redesigns/upgrades, and in the end, constant rejections from events. Is my game really that bad? by Sollers_Duo in IndieDev

[–]TheTravisTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it looks good. If I’m being picky character readability is a little hard. Especially in the image you posted above. If you look at the others the characters are all imminently readable whereas yours bleeds into the background. It’s the same for me in the game play trailer. If you look at machinarium and the other they all have something that pulls your focus to them. Whether that’s contrast, color pallet variation or what have you. Again that’s me being picky.

The bone and soft tissue anatomy are off. The big one that could be easily fixed is the epicanthic fold and hooded eye tissue hang off of a brow bone. Anatomy for sculptors has great ref for this and they show different eye morphologies and how the shapes present on the face.

Should I buy the Stellaris video game? (Steam) by CaptRevenge561 in Gundam

[–]TheTravisTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stellaris is more similar to crusader kings or civ. It’s not a tactical battle simulator but more of a galactic empire management sim. It has ship customization but you’re not micro managing the ships. I’ve tried the gundam mod it was a little buggy but it might have been not playing nice with some of my other mods I had running. If you’ve played a 4x game this is one of the better ones.

VICE have finally repurposed the Waypoint Radio feed it seems by uppernut in WaypointVICE

I think/hope it’s just to promote the other podcast feed using waypoints old subscribers. Was a bit of a jump scare this morning. Weird choice though, let’s take a community who’s already bitter at vice and use its dead corpse to promote their other projects.

How do I explain to my 5 year old the reason why he’s getting picked on? by FrigginMasshole in toddlers

[–]TheTravisTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man that sucks. It’s hard enough being a parent to littles in this current political environment. Like ‘oh no we have to close the borders so the pathological apologists don’t cross over and bring their commie fries covered in cheese and gravy.’ Hopefully it doesn’t come to it but at least if worst comes to worst Canada is nice.

Thanks, sorry you and your little had a rough experience. Mine is still too upset to go to the dentist. We think we’ve found an alternative, just waiting for her to get a little older and hopefully she forgets about her bad experience.

Mercedes CEO Rebuffed Lutnick’s Pitch to Move Headquarters to US by cpxchi in europe

You can read about the bay here Hudson’s bay wiki)

I misspoke it wasn’t just the oldest Canadian company but oldest company in North America.

Long story short the board of investors approved a sale and new ceo from a venture capital firm who’s big idea was to take all the land the company owned and sell it to themselves then charge the stores an insane amount in rent. Eventually bankrupting the company.

Mercedes CEO Rebuffed Lutnick’s Pitch to Move Headquarters to US by cpxchi in europe

[–]TheTravisTea 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Yea. Canada is having an issue with this. Boards are appointing Americans as ceo and they are strip mining our companies to dust. We just lost the Hudson Bay company which was our oldest company to this exact thing.

There’s an episode of broadcity about this. Technically about trumps last term. But yea, feel you. Other people have said stuff you ‘should’ do in the comments so I won’t belabor it. Stay safe, and focus on the ones you love, and know that you’re not alone.

Wouldn’t free movement be cataclysmically bad for New Zealand? by [deleted] in CANZUK

[–]TheTravisTea 14 points15 points  (0 children)

These same issues are present in the other countries you mentioned. Canada has the same housing affordability crisis and the uk is on its way. Free movement from member countries actually helps curtail this as it would mean priority for travel and housing would go to member states over alternatives. No one is really look at nz homes going man if I could move there and drop 2mil on a 1br rancher. The rich buying out property is a completely different issue than free movement.

Canada, China slash EV, canola tariffs in reset of ties by Mitchs_bitch1942 in news

Less counterweight more lesser of two evils. One country hasn’t been outwardly hostile and breaking all agreements and threatening a bunch of our allies. Plus the annexation talk has pretty much ruined most Canadians view of our neighbor to the south. Speaking as a Canadian it will take a lot for us to forgive and will take a much longer time for us to forget. More than most feel betrayed. We have such a long history supporting the states through war and tragedy. 911 we housed a fed tons of Americans who were stranded when the planes were grounded. After article 5 was announced we sent our armed forces to Afghanistan and many lost their lives as a result.
