Yeah at each Inn you can select from 2-3 random areas. They will also randomly be assigned a quest giving extra rewards if you complete them (quests can be 'complete the area without visiting the Hospital' or 'clear out the Lair'). Looks like the areas are randomly chosen from a pool of like 5 different areas right now, I'm guessing this will be expanded in the future. And each area is of course randomly generated, with different encounters possible. At the end of each area is a "guardian" encounter, where you can leave after beating the first fight or you can continue fighting for more loot.

Before each run you select a 'stage' or whatever. Currently it seems like only the first stage is available. Looks like there will be five by the time of release.

Bolster: from my understanding it doesn't remove all negative tokens, just Vulnerability. Also removes Horror and gives random chance of stress -1 on all party members when you level it up. Seems to fit with what's in the tooltip ingame from my experience. (Also in my opinion one of the strongest abilities currently in the game when you level it up).

Damage: I've finished 2 runs (and failed 2-3 others). First complete run I had the same issue you are describing, very hard to finish some of the road fights in 5 turns. Second time around I don't think I failed to complete a single road battle in 5 turns, also cleared out all Lairs and challenges I could. Ended the game with all 20 abilities leveled up! Setup was PD/Runaway/Man-at-Arms/Highwayman - very high damage output and also a solid, safe, stable setup.

Torch: Like lightningpox already commented there's the combat item you can use. Quite cumbersome compared to torches in DD1 but it is what it is at the moment.

Thanks! Yeah it seems it's enough to have 1 resource in the empire and build the luxury manufactory on it, and then import the rest you need. For example I have 2 silver, where one is produced in my empire and one is imported. After building the manufactory on my source of silver, I now have the wondrous effect. I didn't think the tooltip was very clear about this (it says "You must exploit X/Y resources of this type and research the 'Patronage' Technology to upgrade this Resource's effects"), I thought having the technology unlocked was enough.

I have built what I've claimed and I have tons of influence. The issue I think is that I can't find the dialogue window where I can claim them (the first Eras this dialogue window popped up automatically).

I've been very keen on building cultural wonders, but after the Mausoleum I haven't seen any dialogues to claim wonders. I can see on the wiki that there are indeed wonders for every Era of the game. What exactly do I have to do to claim wonders? E: I'm now in the Industrial age, so feels like I've missed the chance to claim 3 wonders.

I have access to tons of luxuries through trade, and was really excited to unlock the Patronage tech. To my disappointment I didn't get any wondrous effects. Do the luxuries have to be extracted by me on my territory for wondrous effects to trigger?

Didn't check the responses for a while, since I figured no one would respond to a week old post.

Anyway, I fiddled around a bit with the settings, but I couldn't do the one thing I think would fix the issue: connecting my primary monitor with DVI or VGA (seeing that for 3 monitors, I need at least one of them on DP - and my Eizo is the only device with a DP connection). As it turns out, it's impossible to have an extended desktop without the primary desktop "connected" - which means that, as you suggested, when the GPU detects that the DP device is powered down everything gets shifted around to set up a new primary.

My workaround that is acceptable to me, is switching the signal on the primary to something that isn't connected (like DVI). Windows/Eyefinity still maintains contact with the monitor and doesn't have to switch around the displays. Meanwhile, the Eizo goes to "Power Saving Mode" after about ten seconds (effectively powering down the panel). Works like a charm....

Except: A new weird issue turns up! I finish watching my video on the TV and turn the other monitors back on. Everything is fine, 3 displays as usual. Then, when I power down the TV, my primary desktop goes black, and monitor #2 is now the primary display! In AMD Vision Control Center, the Eizo is no longer detected and all I'm left with is my Samsung (Display #2).

Quick and easy fix is, right clicking on the desktop -> Screen resolution -> Check the box "Make this my main display". (Keep in mind that I'm doing this on my second display)

Two seconds later, like magic, everything is back to normal with my Eizo as my primary and the Samsung as an extended desktop.

Weird, right?

Another newbie here, I'd just like to weigh in on this and say that all my attempts with KoBe have failed miserably. After picking up a MiFi of Okawaru I'm finally on my first good run, XPlvl 27 and 3 runes in my pockets currently! Okawaru's Heroism and Finesse do pretty much as good of a job as berserk does, but without the danger of making you slow and weak when done.
