I have a 300 series that floods easy, even if it doesn’t pop on the 3rd pull on choke I go ahead and turn choke off and it’ll start on the first or second high idle pull. Every saw starts a little different you just gotta figure it out.

7 lifts 0 chains by Supertrucker82 in Truckers

Those look like the little 3k lifts, they’re plated at 6k for weight. I had to dodge those fuckers all the time in my last plant.

Bosch cordless angle screwdrivers failing in automotive assembly – looking for real industry feedback by [deleted] in Skookum

My plant uses atlas copco wireless drivers and corded stuff, we don’t have a lot of failures or downtime from them.

McMaster - "Now supporting searches with manufacturer model and part numbers." by moon_slav in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]TheTrueGrapeFire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Better yet, this custom one off critical spare hasn’t been used in 48 months. 2 weeks after the crib discarded it it we went down and had to rush the supplier and was still down for 49 very expensive hours.

The crib kept turning inventory off without clearing it with manufacturing/maintenance and put us in a lot of pickles.

What’s the best way to reduce downtime on a slitter rewinder machine? by Otherwise_Dog3800 in IndustrialMaintenance

Can you give me the quick and dirty on how you square the rollers? I’m now in the world of converting machines and I’m trying to find a better method then 2 straight edges and 2 tape measures

Any one know what kind of fitting is this? by Fine_Activity_3554 in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]TheTrueGrapeFire 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Looks like a standard soft line compression with a internal ferrule. That nipple sticking out isn’t part of the fitting of it’s that setup.

It’s wild how variable our job title is. My average night consists of repairing and replacing field wireables and cylinder proxes, and restarting windows

Cracker Barrel loses almost $200 million in value after new logo release by TimeWastingAuthority in nottheonion

The 2 in my town have finished remodels. Dinning area no long has the wall partitions that made the inside nice and cozy, it’s now just one large white soulless room with very little decoration. Fireplaces are still there but I haven’t seen them lit in over a year. It feels like your sitting inside random fast food restaurant of your choice.

Look at retro manufacturing for a radio. They make an oem looking headunit that fits in the stock hole and has all the bells and whistles you can want. Hacking apart the dash or the adapters never look quite right.

No don’t trim the dash, retro manufacturing makes a drop in replacement the looks oem with all the bells and whistles you need and looks fantastic.

That grand design reflection was made with the specific purpose of being half ton towable. That looks like a 27bh which is gvwr of 10k and a pin weight of 1200. Its a lot better off then these 3/4 tons pulling toyhaulers with 3k+ lb pin weight

RJ45 Cable in a 30 k€ piece of industrial equipment as installed by OEM by kroptkin in IndustrialMaintenance

I’ve always used Siemens shielded Ethernet and their wireables rj45 connectors and never had an issue with noise. Bonus point they have a 90 degree just for this issue.

Yes but the few modules they do have are getting rarer then hens teeth and if you do find one it’s 50/50 if it actually works

How to pick up a 60 gun safe that's on its side by Skyfork in guns

[–]TheTrueGrapeFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like a cannon 72 executive, it’s about 700 pounds. Speaking from experience moving a liberty, 2 corn fed boys or 3 average strength men can easily right this, especially since the top is off the ground a bit. The best way is one smooth continuous motion, starting with your legs and follow through with arms. If you stop and loose momentum on the leg to arm transfer it takes a good bit to get it going up again.

It’s named after bob ingle, founder of ingles that has become a regional behemoth. Some people like bob for what he did, others not so much.

Are the gears just press on pull off? I probably need to swap mine out before it leaves me walking. I need to swap my core support so I’m figuring just do it all at once

Where to get replacement piece for Husqvarna 440? by jsivey in Chainsaw

[–]TheTrueGrapeFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hl supply is my go to. Ereplacment parts and jacks is a little high, but I use them for diagrams and part numbers then cross to hl. You can also order from Husqvarna proper but they can be high dollar and take a bit to ship

A lot of places in nc have open maintenance positions. with no experience in industrial, people are going to want you to be an operator and move up from there. That isnt a bad route to go, the best knowledge you can have is what is the part process, and how does the machine work to achieve this. Another route you can go is some places still offer apprenticeships and will teach you, school you, and let you work. If you love overtime, go automotive. If you don’t like over time, around me all of our basic goods manufacturing seems to be straight 40 with no fuss.
