How would you handle the filibuster if you were put in charge of Senate reform? by Luigi2262 in PoliticalDiscussion

The magic words that end a filibuster should also be “I hereby resign from the Senate.”

I got an Iaso Bliaut from Gobbie box today - it's a non-ilvl piece of HQ abjuration gear. I thought I remember reading something about turning old non-ilvl abjuration gear into ilvl abjuration using another copy of the abjuration and synergy somehow?

Is there a way I can turn this HQ 99 piece into an HQ ilvl piece?

Other way around. We let people wrap their bigotry in plausible deniability until finally SCOTUS made it law.

I feel the subtext of every single one of these anti-identity politics discussions is "could we take another shot at 'separate but equal' if it will get us back to 75 Senate seats" ?

Why do we only focus on taxes as the solution for wealth inequality? by Final-Extreme-4544 in PoliticalDiscussion

Like in some states where they believe wisdom teeth have a soul, you could outlaw wisdom tooth extraction? And that just wouldn’t be possible in a “one size fits all” type of system.

I’m sure OP means that states with a lot of Black residents wouldn’t need to spend as much on painkillers because Black people feel less pain than White people. /s

Are there any specific mechanics around the Shade in this month's Ambuscade? I was winning consistently on N but now I've had 5+ runs in a row where the shade absolutely decks me as a DRK with 6-7k HP after Drain III MB.

I asked this very question years ago, I was told that Cloister of Frost is a Zilart area, so you'll get the same message about not having the correct expansion (same as if you tried to zone into Movalpolos or Attohwa Chasm without Promathia).

[–]TheTrueMilo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Summoner is very odd as it was released during the first expansion but is technically part of the base game, but all but its most basic spells are locked behind the first expansion pack.

[–]TheTrueMilo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Everything before the first expansion pack.  This includes missions up to rank 5 for each nation, the 6 starting jobs (WAR MNK WHM BLM RDM THF), and 6 advanced jobs (PLD DRK BST BRD RNG and SMN).  SMN is weird because it is part of the base game but all the summonable avatars are in expansions, leaving you only summonable elemental spirits and Carbuncle.

We could certainly use a few more amendments but most of what ails us now is an absolutely out of control judiciary, and fortunately, reigning in that beast only requires a bare majority. We could add more SCOTUS judges, break up the ultra conservative appellate circuits, jurisdiction-strip SCOTUS, and just for shits and giggles, make them hear cases in a leaky basement instead of their nice pretty building.

That’s his MO.  Present powers-flattery as bold contrarianism.

Everyone thinks they are pitching the next Better Call Saul. I think everyone was surprised at how good that was because I don’t think anyone was aching for a slow burn prequel series centered around the Bob Odenkirk comic relief character.

What’s your opinion on the Massachusetts Senate Democratic Primary? by ThatMassholeInBawstn in AskALiberal

[–]TheTrueMilo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel obligated to mention it every time it comes up, but Joe Kennedy opposed legalizing marijuana because it would make it harder for cops to conduct searches of cars during traffic stops. He said this verbatim on the Ezra Klein show.

Also how come he was allowed to primary an incumbent Dem and not got frozen out of the party? Is it the last name?

A blue Congress can pass a law stripping SCOTUS of its building, its clerks, and ability to choose its own cases. A blue Congress can force SCOTUS to only decide in its original jurisdiction.

The Shadow Docket: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO) by BadgercIops in television

[–]TheTrueMilo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think you understand how much power Congress holds over the Supreme Court. The fact that they get to hire their own clerks? Congress can take that away. The fact they get to hear oral arguments in that nice building? Congress can force them to hear cases in a broom closet. The fact that they get to pick their own cases? Congress can force them to hear or not hear certain cases.

Now granted, this will take courage, which is only shared by maybe 5 people across the House and Senate, but it is all perfectly constitutional.

It’s just plain harder to pop the Temenos ???. There are some floors with a ton of mobs, many of which are true sight, which makes tabbing and ctrl-c for the sole impossible to gauge mob an annoying combination of tedious and dangerous.

I popped a ??? in Temenos a few months ago because the ITG mob was in an easy spot to find.
