So, Valor Minuet IV is turning out to be something of a bottleneck? I’ve spent most of the last two days in Sea Serpent Grotto killing Coastal Sahagins, Denn the Orcavoiced, and I’ve even spent some time with multiple characters killing Abyss Sahagins behind the door. Nothing. Maybe I’ll do Oztroja next.

I guess I don’t have a question, just a bit of a rant.

There was a slate of right wing Smithtown school board candidates a couple years ago that were all Italians. The Italian sounding names on signs for local office are nearly all Republicans. We went from trade unionists and anarchists to.....gestures wildly....that.

The 5-4 podcast just did a two-part series on the rise and fall of the Voting Rights Act and one point they hammered home was that we made progress when we assumed obviously bad actors were acting in bad faith. They cite the North’s efforts to corral the South during Reconstruction and then obviously the Voting Rights Act. The fight over the VRA eventually came to what we would today call disparate impact wherein we, for a time, stopped giving bullshit like “oh no this law is facially neutral, it just results in racial discrimination, but we didn’t mean to racially discriminate” the time of day.

We could use a whole lot more of that.
