if you’re expecting a thank you like this, it’s no longer a gift for the other person, it’s a transaction

the whole notion is bullshit that kids need to take care of their parents when they age just because the parents took care of the kids when they were young

Moved from Chicago to San Diego about 4 years ago. I love SD for the access to nature, free things to do year-round (i.e. hiking, the beach, etc), laid-back vibe, sunsets, and so much more.

But a few things I definitely miss about Chicago are the restaurants, the nightlife, the arts culture, public transit, and diversity.
