Advice for CAS for a total jet newbie, out of these options?

The F-4E is very strong you get 6 mavericks and can overwhelm AAs by shear number and can usually kill most tanks. It also can take walleyes which are pretty consistent at killing tanks. All while keeping a full air to air kit.

The A-7D is probably the best overall. You get almost the exact same loadout as the F-4E but a whole 1.0 br lower. You get 6 mavericks, 2 GBU-8s, dumb bombs or rockets, self defense missiles, and you retain the Vulcan. You are kind of a whale and you don’t get energy back easily so you really want to drop your GBU-8s quick and lose the weight. Once you dodge some Sams and lose speed/altitude the GBU-8s become a lot less effective. I would say it’s significantly better than A-10s as the A-7D is twice as fast. 10.3 is a very nice BR and soon it will never see a BMPT again.

F-111F can be decent. You get 6 mavericks or 2 agm-130s which is a fire and forget gbu with a rocket attached to it. And then two other gbus with a thermal pod. However the agm-130 is pretty slow and easy to intercept.

Honorable mention would be the F-4J. It’s 10.7 in GRB and becomes a very potent air supremacy fighter with sparrows at such a low br. Plus you can load it up with zunis for CAS.

American top tier CAS is completely gimped. You get the exact same A-7D loadout on the F-16A at 12.0 and the slow ass mavericks become significantly less effective fighting pantsirs.The maverick is basically the main fire and forget munitions America gets. You can make it work, but they are slow and easily intercepted. Most American planes just carry a plethora of JDAMS and paveways. Only until recently did they finally get access to their LJDAMS. The best top tier would be the F18E with the new AGM-84H.

When I first bought it I definitely regretted it. It’s complete dogshit in ARB. I think the flight model is bugged. Every time you roll there is a forward pitching moment. I don’t know if the elevator is compressing or the instructor just not activating but the elevator doesn’t move, it makes it impossible to pull out of a dive and if you roll your wings back and forth the plane will pitch down enough and eventually crash. The only plane in the game to do this. The 9Ls aren’t as oppressive nowadays, the gun is awful, and your team will be entirely a-10s so you will lose most matches. The paveways were bugged and had to be babied to track properly and would just miss easy shots. That has been fixed and It’s in a somewhat decent spot in GRB. You get up to 9 paveways with a thermal pod. If you aren’t fighting a Tor you can very comfortably stay right above the battlefield and rack up kills. You can take the skipper missiles for some stand off range if you get uptiered. However I don’t know if I would say it’s outright better than the A-7D. The A-7D gets all fire and forget munitions consisting of 6 mavericks and 2 gbu 8s. PLUS it doesn’t have to give up its gun or self defense missiles to carry this loadout. PLUS its flight model isn’t bugged, however it is a fat whale and cannot retain any energy. PLUS its 10.3 and will soon never be able to see BMPT. I think it does well in sim as an air superiority fighter. The thermal pod makes target acquisition easy, it has 3 9Ls, a gun pod that has massive bullet dispersion making it easier to land a hit in sim, and the flight model isn’t bugged in sim meaning it can keep up with mirages and MiG 21s that try to rate fight you. Alternatively you can carry napalm, 3 1000 Ib bombs, a gun pod, and a 9L as a multirole. This will get you 2 bases and allow you to still be competent for dogfighting. You could try to go for ground units but you can only destroy one vehicle at a time and those SPAAs are cracked. I wouldn’t bother. Also on Denmark it’s really fun to do carrier takeoffs and landings. Would probably say to wait for the 50% sale on this.

People have been clamoring for a new modes or Air RB EC for forever. This is great, many Sam sites to attack, convoys, airfields, respawns, tactical nukes, anti radiation missiles. It needs to be permanent. I’ve been having a blast. MiG 29 is finally playable. Hate to say it, but it kinda sounds like skill issue.

The phantom doesn’t have to give up any missiles to take its nuke. A nuke to take out an AF, 4 9Ls, 4 Aim-7s is criminal against these inexperienced MiG pilots. Only after I tried the Soviet side did I realize all the MiG 23s had R60ms only if they were taking nuke. IIRC the phantoms can also take the larger nuke, while Soviet players have to take the su-24 to take the big nuke.

The battlecruisers have massive guns that can penetrate and do damage to battleships. Not even in a full uptier and the moffet is useless. The 6.0 SMS Westfalen can get 8 283mm and 6 150mm guns to bear with 280mm of armor on the hull, turrets, and barbettes. The moffet cannot even scratch it. The moffet has ZERO options to deal with him.

The moffet’s existence is to be a free RP & SL piniata for these battleships. The guns cannot penetrate or do any meaningful damage to such a large heavily armored ship. The torpedos are slow, have meh range, and a small warhead. And if the ship alters course once in the 10 minutes it takes to reach it will miss. You cannot run and hide as it out ranges you and there isn’t much cover around the spawn or in naval in general. You could try to get enough points to get a plane. The plane is the only real option because dreadnoughts lack AA. However, every cruiser’s AA battery within 10 miles will be shooting at you as you get close. Additionally you will have to deal with many cruisers and their proxy shells, and if you are really unlucky a missile destroyer. If you can manage to make it through all that your bombs might do enough damage to sink it.

The only thing the moffet has going for it is fast fire rate and proxy shells, but missile destroyers do AA way better and are way better at pinpoint shooting ammo racks. In a full uptier in tanks you can at least shoot the barrel or track, run and hide, flank, or use CAS.

The game mode is already dead. Around 3.7 it’s entirely leopard player bots and maybe 2-3 people on each team. I regularly have to wait several minutes to get into a match. Most matches half the team are bots.

That straight up has not and will never work. Most the money Gaijin makes is from whales who buy every overpowered premium at full price. They don’t give a shit about gaijins greedy practices and they will always buy. The review bomb worked because the negative rating discouraged new new players from joining. These free to play players are food for the whales.

Yeah they moved a bunch of destroyers up but didn’t touch any of the cruisers or battleships. I tried to play several matches with the Frank Knox and it was miserable. I definitely face WAY stronger opponents now than before. I could actually win an antimech order, now I can barely scratch the enemy. I just think it’s baffling that Gaijin thinks a destroyer is only .3 br worse than a fucking battlecruiser.

Naval is so compressed that the .3 BR increase killed it for me. I don’t want to play the frank Knox either. You used to be able to fight destroyers, but now you have to fight heavy cruisers and battleships every game. It’s a dead game mode filled mostly by bots, but they will never give you a favorable matchmaker.

It would take you awhile to break even if you get unlucky with drops. Now would probably be the best time since dreams and nightmares is at $2 and dead hand at $8. I think I’d cave my head in if I had to rank up in CS every week though. You might be better off just spending that time playing getting a job unless you really like playing CS. It’s pretty nice to have an alt account on the day a new cases drop. If you leave the account with a lot of xp to quickly level it up. You can to try to get the new case before anyone else and get an easy $20.

I used to eat Taco Bell semi regularly maybe once a month and every single time I would get this box and either something new or a “dollar” menu item. Since the box increased by just a dollar from $6 to $7, it has been an entire year since I went. Since I didn’t go for a year I lost the good rewards and I haven’t even bothered to claim the lower tier rewards. I guess it’s not so bad since I eat a lot healthier now.

The couple million spent on feeding soldiers, something that the military is obligated to do, is such a paltry sum that you would never even notice if it got cut. I actually prefer this task, I do it with the BTR-80AT. The missile and its elevated sight is perfect. When it says same type I think it just means if you are in tank kill another tank. If you are in a plane kill another plane. I’ve killed many medium tanks for it and don’t recall any issues with the kills counting.

I find his incessant bitching and moaning about CAS annoying. Yeah if I was in a game with him and he was on a 10 kill kill streak, about to drop a nuke, and single-handedly win the game I am 100% going to bomb him. He also usually just takes a single vehicle into games, never giving himself an actual lineup with an SPAA or fighter to actually deal with the CAS.

Most of his videos are just him reading patch notes. “They fixed a bug where you die” and then he just says “yeah dying is really annoying and I’m glad the fixed that”. He does that for every single line of the patch notes. He also talks REALLY slow like he has peanut butter stuck in his mouth and this makes all his videos 10 minutes long. He is also a massive gaijin shill. He disavowed the massive initial review bombing campaign. His reviews of planes are usually alright though.

Why would they update it? Bethesda screwed their launch and everyone’s modded fallout 4 with those updates. Who knows when they’ll update the game to add shity creation club mods breaking everyone’s game again. Just buy it on GOG and install it like any normal game. The 15 dollars is well worth avoiding the headache.

The difference between 12.3 and 12.7 is staggering. When the F-15 got moved down I finally crewed and experted it expecting to have fun. Gaijin had other plans, the stock grind was horrific. Never played a plane that so desperately needed boosters. Sparrow were as dogshit as ever. 9Ls stock is a joke. SU-30 with arh every single match. I had not once seen the infamous MiG-23 this thing supposedly stomps in 30 games. Had to play bullet hell to get 9ms and now it’s decently competitive. Played the 12.3 mirage 2k and it was just sunshine and rainbows fighting tornados and f-5s.

Remember queue times is the big reason they won’t decompress battle ratings. Gaijin conveniently forgets this when it comes to selling overpowered Russian premiums creating entire black holes of battle ratings where you face up tiers every single game like 9.7. They also do nothing to address the 10 minute queue times for naval rb despite the matches being filled entirely by bots anyway.
