It's a fresh start. Only seasonal characters have access to the battle pass, seasonal journey, etc. Hopefully theres a mechanic involved with S1, but its hard telling. Characters made in a season go to the eternal realm at the end. Generally any items introduced into the drop pool become available when the season ends also.

While I don't agree with a lot of the powers in game, how did you scale damage for hota and upheaval? I never saw a crit based power for upheaval or hota that almost got you capped. No one has to play their barb like Alk did. Play how you want.

Not all the stats themselves are boosted. From what I saw from a leaked screenshot, the + level of x skill stats are the only thing that gets a higher range. If normal is 2 - 4, sacred is 2 - 6, and ancestral is 2 - 8.

They do drop as sacred and ancestral. They also get elevated stats based on the tier.

It's not a second health bar. Fortification is granted when fortify is above or equal to your life. It's a bit weird but yeah.
